They should do an upgrade that gets rid of all the loading screens. Also known as creating a new game altogether.

or do the delayed load screens that make the player think there are no load screens like some passed generation games, hell even Hogwarts legacy did these hidden load screens, the game would load in the next cell as you approach a door outside of the school an they would limit the speed of you reaching that door to load it in. i would much prefer they just did the secret load screens that you can't tell are load screens.

@@5226-p1e Exactly! I was thinking about this as well. But it might be too much, as they'd have to redo the entire way the maps work. The least they could do is add in a few mini-games or a randomly chosen different animations to spice things up a little. And they should definitely do the map loads DURING the cut scenes not after them! I dunno how flexible their game code is when it comes to modifications like this.

@@robdom91 it's not out of their capability's, they literally did this in FO4 whenever the player entered into any elevator, or at least 90% of the elevators in the game, some just lifted the player to another part of the same cell, but most were these delayed load doors that felt seamless. most players didn't know that was a seamless delayed load door sequence unless they knew how to spot it. so it's all within their capabilities of this engine, they just for whatever reason chose not to implement it into their game maybe it was a time constraint or some other silly reason idk to me it seems like this game is unfinished and that could have been planned but it was scraped probably due to time constraints or something. it would have been great for space travel in my opinion, i actually made a longer comment in this video detailing this very idea if you are interested in how it would work, just look for it, there aren't that many comments in this video so it should be easy to find.

A great mod that allows you to fast travel to undiscovered points of interest(poi) on planets and moons is called "Fast Travel To Unknown".

I finally updated from 1.8.87 to the newest update. Still a few mods haven’t updated but nothing crippling. City Maps are worthless in this game and there is no need other than looks, no city is so expansive that you can’t find your way around after a few hours of play. There are 7 DLC’s coming yet too. Shattered Space is confirmed. Bethesda has also said there will be smaller ones like Automatron for fallout 4 for ships in Starfield. Three DLC will be larger DLC adding to story and four will be smaller ones focused on specific things.

now i know the creation engine isn't exactly capable of NMS level of travel when it comes to the way they made the game, but there is a way to sort of simulate flight using this engine that will make it feel more immersive and fun, but it's nothing like NMS and more like star citizen but more arcade like, basically what will happen is when you engage your drive to the next destination your ship will do the usual cutscene but instead of just doing your typical load screen the game will eject you from your cockpit as the ship travels in a state of warp shall i say where your ship actually takes time getting to the destination, now i say it will work like star citizen, but it will be more of a arcade version as your ship really isn't traveling it only appears it's traveling as you can see outside your ship that grav drive effect blowing past your ship from all perspective's of all windows that see out side your ship, this is just an effect that feels like the ship is traveling. now the way it will work is basically like a delayed load screen, ya know the ones that the player can't tell it's a load screen but it is, because it appears seamless but the travel will be based on the distance of the planet your headed to and your ships engine upgrades, and you will have an ETA time to your destination, now it won't be quite as long as star citizen, it will be a bit more gamey than that because we don't want the player to be too board for too long, however there could be a setting set to cause random encounters based on the players choice in difficulty setting that will offer interrupted travel and the grav jump could be prematurely taken down and an event will take place, it could be anything ranging from mysterious abandoned ships to a pulsar planet causing your ships systems to shut down to pirates figuring out how to set traps while traveling in grav space to finding a distress call of another ship along your route as their ship also fell into the same situation and it's a situation you and your crew have to figure yourselves out of, but again this is all based on choice and chance gap of your difficulty setting, if you just wanted the simulation it will just fly to your destination like normal and simulate space travel, it will function more like an episode of star trek or Stargate Universe. you can do anything on your ship while you wait to get to the next destination, anything from chatting with your crew to fixing some gear on you or one of your companions to maybe fixing something on your ship or something like that, or you can just take in the beautiful atmosphere and view of space travel out the windows of your ship watching the grav waves push passed your ship in the hypnotic way it does. now again the time spent won't be anything crazy unless that's what you want, but most of the time it won't take any longer than 10 minutes of travel, but as is said it could be adjusted to take longer depending on the distance of your destination and your ships engine upgrade capability's, so if your engines are the beginning starting engine of the game and your headed to a planet that's close by it won't take that long, but if you decided to go to a further planet it could take longer as it's also based on distance and you will see the estimated times before you make your decision prior to accepting that jump. this idea is basic but i know it will work in starfields engine no problem because it uses the existing tech that this engine can actually handle, this game engine is based on scripts timers and set chance variables that can all be very modifiable to make this whole experience feel good, now it's not going to be like star citizen where you are actually traveling in real time to your destination, but it can appear that it is traveling in real time and that can be seen in your star map as your travel looking at your ETA countdown sequence. the purpose behind this idea is to simulate that your ship actually travels to all it's destinations instead of always going through yet another load door like any other, it's supposed to feel like you actually traveled somewhere and the possibility that you can run into unforeseen circumstance's during that grav jump to your destination offering other variables that the player and their crew would need to figure out to get back on track to their next destination. a lot of these variable examples are based on actual episodes of various space tv shows and movies that i loved while growing up, anything from star trek to starwars to stargate to battle star galactica and many more examples, that can make the travel in starfield actually feel fun and immersive and not just another lazy bethesda load screen that feels souless and boring. this is what i personally would love to see in starfield.

I get the picture that you think a more seamless implementation to map travel would be possible to do with their aging game engine, but the current project, Starfield, might be written in a way that would make it difficult to put in. I'm of course just placing my skepticism on a theory, as I'd have to study the source code for their game to know for certain. Game making is kinda like baking a cake. I get that the oven can do a lot more, but once that dough is baked, you really can't change what went into it. You can add different icings on it and try to change the look and the flavor, but you're kinda stuck with whatever the foundations are. I'm not even sure the foundations are that good or that bad. Here's hoping they can patch it up over time like No Man's Sky.

@@robdom91 well you should be happy to know it's not a theory that it can work in their aging engine, as they literally did this very thing i'm talking about in fallout 4's elevator's, not all of the elevator's were these secret loading screens, but at least 90% of them were, and it's true this is an upgraded version of the engine which makes it somewhat different, so maybe there might be something that could prevent it, but i suspect that bethesda didn't really upgrade much when it came to how the game handles load screens since that's pretty much the same as all of their passed games. anyway we are also talking about a highly modifiable engine that can be tweaked in many ways to do other things as seen in the modding scene with modders always coming up with things that weren't capable of working and to suddenly working like it were normal, like the fact that they figured out how to speed up the fps and get passed the 60 fps cap that plagued their games for many years, and this tweak also speeds up the load times and other cool details.

@@GourmGames i'm glad you guys think so, most of the time when i come up with ideas like this, it seems most people get mad at the idea because they know background details in how it works. but i feel it's important to point out how it works because i want to explain that it's very possible within this engine, we already know we will never get a NMS kind of travel in starfield, so instead we have to work with what we know this engine is already capable of, like i already said, bethesda already know how to make this kind of idea possible, they just didn't do a whole lot in this direction as they have in passed games such as FO4. when i first played FO4 i didn't know that's why the elevator's took so long, it was something i personally found out when using a mod that sped up load screens by tapping into the fps speeds to uncapped speeds and suddenly my load times improved significantly faster, i mean i remember counting how long they were without this tweak and it was always something like a minute to a minute and 30 seconds long, which is crazy long when playing a game, but with that mod it was 5 seconds to rarely going over 10 seconds in load times, that is progress, now starfield doesn't have issues with load times as far as i can tell, however they do suffer from empty spaces in lots of places which might attribute to less load times. but the issue with starfield is there is no good alternative to the loading screens that offers gameplay aspects to feel more like a simulated gameplay experience, starfield in many ways feels like an indy dev game that has lots of things in it, but it never fully creates the world that feels good enough, it's always missing something very important that destroys the overall feel.
