made this clipping about richard dean anderson who plays character of colonel jack o´neill on stargate sg-1, those scenes are my favorites, well some of them anyway, enjoy :P
Martin, yes, since he is using fishing rods and bait, the actual fish being there is irrelevant. Technically go to a lake and there might not be any fish were you are but you are fishing and David, no since the point of golf is hitting the ball. Now depending on if there is a hole
johnjohnson OK, I accept that, perhaps they should call it "ing" rather than *fishing* since there are no *fish* involved. I was a pretty stupid question from the start wasn't it?
***** I was taught there were no stupid questions, like did the man know there were no fish in the pond? Same goes for the one that asks, " If a tree falls in the forest and nobody's there to hear it, does it make a sound? Personally, I always have problems with rhetorical questions. How are you, Martin? Well, I hope. Our friend, Dennis Wise has resurfaced after a long absence, nothing has changed, he's still the same narcissistic little prick we've all come to know and hate. His latest ramblings include the bombing if Dresden, which he says was a war crime, but blitz bombing London was OK by him. And his great masterpiece " The Greatest Story Never Told'' he says has been seen by millions and finally bringing the truth to people. Seems that the Free Masons and un named sources were behind the whole thing. Take Care.
What else he should have done? Connect to internet and watch porn? Blow up a small planet? A moon perhaps? Maybe Daniel Jackson could only connect to Asgard internet, so it was full with Asgard porn hehehhe.
I just love the fact that it was dr Jackson who said it. All the while not having a clue what he just started. Also Teal’c joining O’Neill in being a menace is hilarious 😂😂😂😂
That scene has a mistake in it - It's based in 1969. Star trek was already in season 3 by then - They'd have known who Kirk was. Star Wars, on the other hand, wasn't out for another 8 years - so he could have "bought" the name Skywalker (although it sounds stupid). They should have gone with the Star Wars bit first, then Trek, with him stubbing out the cigarette when he said he was Captain James T Kirk.
Anybody else noticed that Jack only kissed Sam once he handed in his resignation. So even when he knew he wouldn't suffer any consequences, he still did the right thing.
She had to see that he had actually resigned so that she could go along with it without consequences. And it seems to me she did, Enthusiastically, go along with it.
These were great! The thing about the scene from "1969" is that Star Trek was already out at that time (in its third and final season), so the guy may've recognized "James T. Kirk". Then there's this conversation between O'Neill and Carter: Jack - Nervous? Carter - Well, I've never blown up a star before. Jack - Yeah, they say the first time is the hardest.
Unless he never seen Star Trek because when it was on Star Trek wasn't exactly a giant hit and only had a fan base of nerds and geeks. Most people either looked down on Trek or never seen it.
That's a funny one, although truth be told I'm with Jack. They already have a carrier called Enterprise, a space shuttle was another Enterprise, why not a space ship?
Zamolxes77 I've always assumed that was because there already was a ship with that name in service. Sure, almost nobody would've known that the other would've existed, but I guess that the military still wanted to avoid giving two ships the same name.
Joel Szasz No, I don't think that's a valid reason. Usually there is great competition between different branches of u.s. military. Navy has an Enterprise, the nuclear carrier, maybe its possible for the airforce to have one as well, with the same name.
Zamolxes77 Then maybe the Air Force didn't want to give the name Enterprise to an unproven, unattractive-looking, and prototype design? They probably wanted to save the name for a more refined design that they could be proud of anyways, not that the Prometheus wasn't something to be proud of, for their first interstellar vessel, even if it was ugly-looking.
He’s just delightful, no matter who he plays, he has such a childlike quality to his personality, thanks Richard got sharing your winning personality with us. We love you. You will never grow old. God bless.
I agree - makes me want to watch the entire series again and again and again! Certain episodes are favorites but all have good parts to them. RDA makes this series what it was/is.
This was the funniest serious science fiction on television. The humor was never overplayed and every one of the four main characters got their turn at being funny.
Normally I do not hold with comedy and scifi going together, but when it is done in such a , you can't help but to laugh way, it become so perfectly part of the show that you must say , HELL YES DO IT SOME MORE !
Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis were gold mines. The characters were developed nicely, their personalities were fun and blended well with each other and they were all savvy. To this day, Stargate's Thor is my favorite Thor in fiction. Sure he was a little Grey guy but he was probably one of the most level headed and rational individuals in the series. Stargate Universe was a stargate show in name only, it took everything that was good about the Stargate series and got rid of it. Personally the UST between O'nell and Carter was a nice highlight. Watching O'neill resign JUST so he could kiss Sam, brilliant.
Does anyone recall if Jack ever mistook another Asgard for Thor - as I remember him being the one to get that right. But i'm not sure if that is correct or not. I wonder if the Asgard were written out of SG1 as it had a tendency to copy other shows and in this case they were copying Babylon 5 ? I don't think I minded them being trope infested at all - I barely noticed - as it was always fun to watch them do whatever. Even jack getting repeatedly stabbed was oddly fun. I think Baal & Jack's odd little relationship was a nice one. I like Baal he's an oddly practical person for mass murdering manic snake monster - almost as if the gestalt of human and snake had resulted in that unique result - that wouldn't have been the case with all of the others. Maybe that is down to his age... Lord Yu kinda got a bit odd at the end of his life too.
SGU tried to be Battlestar Galatica that's why... I still liked it but yes, it really was only stargate because they made it take place in the same universe
second half of season 2 of Stargate Universe is the best Stargate out of 17 seasons of Stargate. From Twin Destinies onwards. Was by far the best science fiction concept Stargate has ever executed on. Shame the show was cancelled once it was finally getting good.
jack gets everything thanks to his blending he can use the goulds toys, his dna lets him use the ancients toys and the asgard like him so much they just give him toys. this is why he is the best stargate character ever, oh and his knowledge of cliches.
I have to agree. They could have cast nearly anybody, but they had to get the great doofus Ben Browder to take command of sg1. I've never been a fan of brown noser, and never will
+Félix “Lt. Gen. Jack O'Neill” Veilleux-Ouellet I absolutely loved this series, I was heartbroken right up until Atlantis came along now that's damn well finished too so I'm sulking again.
@@kj-marslander Yet SG-1 was sort of a remake of the really, really, really crappy movie. And Stargate Atlantis was a brilliang spin off that was at least a lot tighter than SG-1. Heck, I even kinda enjoyed Universe...
He sometimes pronounces jaffa like jaffacakes...small thing, but it always made me laugh because Teal'c looks like he has a jaffa cake on his forehead 😂
Besides, in order for it to be copyright infringement, Star trek would of had to have created the name. The name Enterprise has been a ship name for far longer than science fiction has been a thing. Before the US was even founded, we had two navy ships bear the name.
***** i think its purely we're the air force we dont name aircraft like the navy does in universe , IRL cbs or whoever own trek have probably got rights for fictional starships named enterprise, same way apple records arent allowed to make computers despite being an older company than apple computers but a golden delicious can be called an apple. i wont say it makes any sense to a rational person but laws is about logic its about precedence :)
do you realize just how many real ships have the name? not to mention a space shuttle? as of 2025 there will have been NINE ships with that name in the US navy.
Loved it!! Thank you pasi. I want to add MY fav. Season 7, Episode 1: Jack and crew are on a planet, being attacked by ja'fa. The civilization isn't advanced enough to have electricity, much less advanced technology. So, a citizen looks at Teal'Q and says, " Is HE a ja'fa?!!!!" Jacks says, "Oh no!! He's one of us. But, he does play one on some TV show." All four SG-1 stand in a row and look deadpan serious. Loved it!! Love the inside jokes, period, but this was one of my favorites. If you weren't listening, you would have missed the greatest revelation of the humor in the entire show!! Hats off to the entire crew that made this show my all time, amazing favorite. Good to see other fans here...
The time loop episode was probably one of the best and funniest I've seen from this show. Finding out that He could get away with anything without repercussions was great!
5:30 - does anyone else thinks that Jack and Sam went beyond kissing on the next loops? The way Jack is smiling at her - that's "cat ate a canary" smile!
No he looks at her that way because he knows that when he kissed her in the loop she enjoyed it and kissed him back. So he knows she likes him as much as he likes her
If you liked that, "200" (S10E6) has Jack and Sam at their wedding (no kissing). Though apparently it's not canon since it was a suggestion for an episode. Clever bit is at the beginning. Before Sam (and Vala) show up, they do a bit of banter between Jack and Daniel to pay tribute to the fans who ship them.
IMO: if there is another live action Stargate series, make it a continuation of SG-1, Carter should be in command of the SGC and one of the SG-1 members should be one of Gen. Hammond's granddaughters.................thoughts?
It's funny that only Jack and Teal'c can remember the Time Loop so they could talking about the time they played golf with the Stargate no one else knows what their going on about 😂
@@PAPO1990 No, those gates were also affected I think. There was a region of gates affected. The Tokra couldn't dial in so they could probably only dial out to gates within their bubble.
@@PAPO1990 Only the three people next to the ancient device which kicked off the time loops (Jack, Teal'c, and the bad guy) could remember the loops. Everyone else in all those systems just replayed the same day over and over with no memory of previous loops. Jack and Teal'c made a remarkable amount of progress learning Ancient in just 3 months.
@@solandri69 no, most of the rest of the galaxy did not experience the time loops. There were reports at the end of the episode that off world allies had been trying to reach the SGC for weeks (or however long). It was mainly just earth caught in the time loop
Incredibly good series...made my day more than once. Very first episode, when Teal'c saves the teams bacon on their first mission, and then professes to have nowhere to go, O'Neil says, "For this, you can stay with me!" Knew it was a winner right then and there.
Jacks cynicism is contagious. About groundhog day..the golfing through the stargate scene really cracked me up, and I seldom do that. Yes kissing Sam would be on my bucket list too.
Plus, they already had two of them. It would be super confusing trying to keep track of Aircraft Carrier Enterprise, Space Shuttle Enterprise, and Space Cruiser Enterprise.
Heroes season 7: Anytime is good.... just send me a memo. Brigman: "I'll get you on camera even if all I get is a series of shots of you avoiding being got". O'neill: "Fire away. I hope shots of my ass serve you well" XD
Great scene choices! Yes, Jack O'Neill (Richard Dean Anderson) MADE Stargate what it was/is. (Owning the DVD's is a great way to re-watch this series as often as you would like.) Thanks for the video - a LOT of good comments.
