I feel it. 89/90 was my best life. Italian house, AC Milan, van Basten, Italia 90, hot summers in UK, lost my virginity, cheap booze, everybody happy, no wars, happy times. 😀

These guys came up with Ride On Time later in 1989. One of the greatest songs of all time and the song which my mum and dad both loved when they got together in summer 89.
reminds me of the many house parties when I was in my teen years in Italy No invite was required so you could end up with half the invitees being total strangers!! When the party was over the lucky host had to spend the rest of the week repainting the house walls and doing all the repairs! :-)))
Today music is so different to yesterday music 89 was a fantastic year .. in 20 years from now you won't remember half the songs they play today 89 90s dance track will live on forever
This is the 'lost' sound of house music. It's probably the first official house music 'hit'. I remember dancing to it when it was released in the clubs. Amazing.
@@flaviushonoriusemperorofro3903 Pump up the volume was a DJ mixed hip hop track. Not a house record A.R Kane and Colourbox are both on record as saying that Numero Uno was the first house hit.
@@flaviushonoriusemperorofro3903 thanks not what the makers of it think. Starlight or made numero uno changed their name to Black Box for their next single. MARSS was a one of hip hop collaboration between two groups of DJs. Then and now they don’t see it as house. Besides there were many house tracks before numero uno, going back to maybe 1984, just none were hits.
@@Davidhjrick yeah...i know they changed their name to black box......they were also called by another name once when they released the top 10 hit grand piano.......(mixmaster)...........as for house music pump up the volume was the first international house hit single as i recall.............house music came strong in the late 80s...........as i recall the first house bands who enjoyed commercial success were INNER CITY, BEATMASTERS, BOMB THE BASS and COLDCUT among others.
One of the hottest hip songs from the eighties. Used during the olympics as well as the famed Expo festival. Starlight brought a new wave of adapting tech with stop - go - smash ability which gave the listening audience something to crave for. A great way to use a piano and electronic mixture to heighten the dance fanatic. Never a dull moment with Numero Uno.
Loved this song first time I heard it back in the day I was like " WOW!!! ) I wonder how many people feel like me. If I've had a couple and it came on in our pub I'd jump on one them little dance floors they have and TRY to dance my 46 year old heart out!
This tune reminds me of working in Butlins Somerwest world...working in the somermart...Great times..Great parties...Remember that for the rest of my life 💖1990.
Lol i went there in 89 and 1990 as a 10 year old maybe we crossed paths! got a very memorable chest infection second time, Soon was dancing to black box not long after that at youth club discos back home in sussex
Remember when tunes used to make you feel happy?😊 Why the cynicism now? And they're only remixing and ruining old tunes these days? I thought we were supposed to be progressing. Look what we've lost😢
i remember going to college on the school bus when i was 14 or so, most of my classmates wanted to hear bananarama or some stock aitkin waterman bollocks, i had this on a cassette recorded from the radio with other classics, Manic MC's "Mental" some wee pappa girl rappers etc lol they all called me a druggy simply cos i loved this music, yet a couple of years later i see the same people at raves off their tits on hardcore =D dance music was more creative back then, now it is so "paint by numbers" more predictable and less exciting!
me too! This song ranked in the chart #1 for some weeks. Loved it. But currently very few people know this song. Was fascinated .. Lil Louis - french kiss, M - pop muzik 1989 and so on.
You are just looking for music in the wrong places. Hardcore dance music in the late 1980s was hard to find on the radio. This track is a rare example that cross over into the mainstream for reasons that are difficult to explain and impossible to replicate. It is a viral phenomena. Today there are 10,000 times more artists working in dance music... the children of the Acid Era. BUT there is no easy way to find it. You have to dive into music platforms and fish for tracks that hit a nerve.
Heard this last night on Gary Davies' hits from 80s; thank you Gary. I closed my eyes for a moment and I was back in the smoky night club again with this fantastic piano house anthem ringing in my ears :-)
Outros hits dessa época que marcaram: Black Box - Ride On Time, 49ers - Touch Me, Kaoma - Lambada, Lee Marrow - Pain, DJ Leleweil - Magic Atto II, Francesco Salvi - Essatto e Taxi, etc.
wow forgot about this tune till it popped up on my Amazon page of all places scrolling down and there it was in the "recommended albums" place.. 1989 the last year of great music :D (chart-wise)
