And that'S how they make you feel bad for even the most destructive and least friendly faces, Starro never killed anyone for fun or for conquest, he took revenge on the ones who had wronged him for years, only to be put down by the suicide squad Hey thx for the heart mate
He would have harmed someone. He was eventually gonna enter Earth's gravity and land - then proceed to enslave humans and feed on their consciousness. It is the equivalent of an enemy soldier about to reach the battlefield.
You may find him ridiculous, but this guy was the very first enemy of the Justice League 61 years ago. After all this years he’s still a recurring character, he even fought against the Avengers and another version of him called Jarro teamed up with Batman. Starro is one of those characters we don’t see in modern comic books anymore, because he would be “too ridiculous” nowadays. He’s a reminder of where DC (and also Marvel) comes from, this era of fancy superheroes and ridiculous villains with flashy colors and over-explicative dialogues. I’m glad they gave him the spotlight for this film, he deserves it. I mean he was pretty weak in comparison to the comics, but I still love my star-boy anyway.
The astronauts didn't know what it was Starro, they didn't have experience with aliens, the human race started to explore the stars a few decades ago, but we can't say the same about Prometheus and Covenant´s crew.
They definitely seemed to have a cavalier attitude about the species they encountered, more like tourists / explorers than scientists. Plus they did tie him down and thought that would work.
I mean he's in a suicide squad product, even in the comics anyone even preperially related to the squad gets a huge nerf to make them much more killable.
Isn't the comics version also bigger? But yeah they definitely took liberties with the characters here. Mongal died to a helicopter crash which her kind would have easily shrugged off.
@@korsekil I know he's "Died" multiple times and regenerated himself. He's also very manipulative even without the spores. Hopefully he'll come back is what I'm trying to say :)
Starro See's astronauts: oh! Hello fellow star gazers! Wanna hang out and watch the stars with me:3 (Gets captured) Starro: no! Stop! You took the stars away! Give them back! GIVE THEM BACK!
"I used to be a galactic conqueror long before you humans found me. I was feared throughout the whole galaxy but one day I decided that I didn't want to do that anymore and just quit. I became a pacifist and took time to truly admire the beauty of space. But then I was kidnapped and taken and experimented on for years and years to come. I was violated and tortured simply to figure out how to use me as a weapon. So thank you Thinker for reminding me who I truly am. I am Starro the conqueror."
I thought Starro would of been silly or whatever, but I actually found his story sad and understanding. I think I'd be conquering too in rage if I was experimented on, tortured, violated and imprisoned for 40 years or whatever, also the moment he confronts thinker is pretty horrifying
@@liamtranka9777 More like the movie is showing that the villain isn't always black and white. Starro was still dangerous and his past didn't justify his mass murder of the city, but it's clear that there were monsters from all sides. The Corto Maltese dictators, Waller, and Thinker were all monstrous people in their own ways, far more than Starro.
No he did not. He would have eventually landed on Earth and enslaved humans. That's how his species stays alive. His words simply mean it was the one time in his life he was truly at peace.
I can sympathize with Starro, if I was just drifting alone in space admiring it's beauty and was suddenly captured by Humans, tortured and possibly experimented on, I'd probably want to destroy everything too.
On first viewing, Starro is totally ridiculous. But the more you see of him the more terrifying he becomes. Like something out of my nightmares as a child.
If you think about it, starro truly wasn’t the villain (at least not in his mind). For the entire time that he knew of humans he was kidnapped, experimented by them, assaulted and was tortured by them for 30 years. So it makes sense that he would think that all humans are bad and didn’t care for killing the civilians. I mean let’s be honest wouldn’t you think the same if your only only knowledge or interaction with a species was them abusing you? It doesn’t ultimately justify his actions but it does show that he really wasn’t the villain.
@@ccmankurtlolitsme2259 no, they mean eat. Starfish wrap targets with their arms and then vomit out their own stomachs to engulf them. That would be sone nightmare fuel seeing a 50 meter creature doing that.
I like to imagine a Timeline where Starro found a companion while drifting in space that prevented the events of this movie. Now they're just Drifting along, Visiting Solar system one after the other, Admiring The galaxy's Beauty until starro becomes So huge that his Very own planet starts orbiting around him
Starro: I WILL INFLECT EVERYONE NOW!!! AND I WILL CONTROL EVERYONE NOW!!! Me: WHAT??? Me: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😨😨😨😨😨😨😰😰😰😰😰😰😰 Me: *Inflected and controled*
After watching this movie, I gotta say, the song fits brilliantly. One of the movie's themes seems to be revolution. Besides Starro, the island itself goes through not one but TWO revolutions, one of which just replaced the old dictators with new dictators. And the Squad end up revolting against Waller, who, like the other authoritarians in the movie, is willing to sacrifice anything and anyone for her cause.
It’s funny. Whenever you say the basic concept of Starro, it sounds ridiculous. Alien starfish who can mind control people? Come on. But not only have both the comics and the movie manage to make him creepy, but this is the first time I’ve seen Starro as a tragic figure. A being who just wanted to be left alone and humanity came along and was like, hm let’s see what this thing could do. Might be a high standard but I think Starro has become one of the best DCEU villains to date
I can't stand the fact that everyone in the comments is rooting for Starro and supporting him, regardless of the hundreds (thousands) of innocent human victims. It wasn't his fault, of course, though… a little pity for the others too come on
So,starro was happy in space, then they took him to into a shuttle and took him back to earth, where they experimented on him for THIRTY YEARS. So when he escapes, notice how he doesn't immediately kill the army. The only reason he killed them was because they shot first. So,let's say this, you go to space, get kidnapped, get taken to a planet you have hardly any idea about, you get experimented on for thirty years, then escape. And your the bad guy :/
Yep. He just begged to be free when the Suicide Squad first meet him, but then is told that they're here to kill him. After his initial attempt on the Squad (who, in fairness, is amidst the army that sparked his backlash) he just warned them and went on his way to take revenge on the rest of humanity.
@@korsekil the only villains in Suicide Squad is the Army. Who wants to kill the Suicide Squad even though they literally saved the world twice? The Army.
*NO, OF COURSE NOT HUMAN* (I never thought starro will get 1M views, so I told my friends that if he get 1M views in less of 2 month I’ll change my name to STARTO TM, but only for a week :) )
In the scene that Volkswagen car almost got destroyed it also happened in real time that during ww1 when enemies attack Volkswagen car factory 1 Volkswagen car almost got destroyed.
Lol for some reason I just imaging this exact vid with the same audio but Everytime someone dies it get hugged in the face by a starro the low quality version of iphone notification sounds.
