A story is told with these vocals, as if all of Redmane’s soldiers watch us combat their General. As they bear witness to our strength, matching Radahn, they chant in lament and in anticipation for the strongest Demi-God to rest.
I'd like to imagine that as this part of the fight is happening, the soldiers of Redmane castle are watching in the distance, and as they realize their general's time is up and his suffering is at an end, they start singing and chanting in unison as a warrior's sendoff.
This is the exact part I thought it was. My favorite part of it is that is sounds like what you’d play during a war hero’s funeral procession… which is what the Festival basically is.
The leats we can do is give him a true battle. Summon everyone, and give Radahn as many champions to fight at once. He can handle it, even in his state that he's in.
@@erckupazo I hope in the dlc we can get a god seeker(from hollow knight) like being in elden ring who could let us fight all the bosses in their prime condition(Strongest they were/ strongest they could be), a boss rush would be cool too. Imagine a prime radhan and hell how strong the disabled and blind curse ridden child could be if given time to adapt to her new powers.
@@erckupazowell, prime radahn was batteled to a stalemate by Malenia, and Malenia we fight is even stronger than back then. Difference between prime Radahn and what we fight is a difference between mid-game boss and late-game boss.
That fits Radagon more if anything He was the former king of Liurnia and learned sorceries there. He already knew a whole bunch of miracles, his hammer was a strength weapon, and his sword was a dex weapon
@@ironmaiden93ofangmar actually, he had a fuckton of vigor too, as he's been fighting the rot for ages already That is his drained health bar we're fighting
Personally I think it's both. First phase feels more like going up against a fierce warrior but the second feels more like a somber chant praising a fallen hero.
The saddest part about all of this is that this could’ve been avoided if it weren’t for Radahn’s one blemish on an otherwise pure hearted character; his aversion to change. He adorns himself in the imagery of the Golden Order’s glory days, he became the greatest gravity sorcerer to ever live so he would never part from his beloved horse, and he arrested fate itself to uphold the status quo. I truly think that the Shattering would’ve ended much differently had he just been able to let go. If he had released the stars when fighting Malenia, I don’t think she would’ve stood a chance, even in her Goddess of Rot form
Yup. Its an ironic punishment that he ended up rotting and stuck in time basically If he carried the legacy of his hero's and the golden order but was willing to move on the lands betwen could look very different
exactly, when done properly, music is best listened to "horizontally" the buildup that the previous sections do to emphasize the next section is what makes it hit hard.
@@DexGen2002I wouldn’t simplify it to that extent but I agree. The first part is far too slow and cumbersome for the bombastic boss fight Radahn is and I think if it started more epic then it would’ve been a lot more popular
@@alalmalal idk man iv only heard the part that was in the vid, Elden Rings soundtracks for bosses isnt hyped enough, havent touched any my audio setting and most the time i cant even hear the boss soundtracks bc of the amazing sfx the game has, like how the bass sounds with slam attacks...fucking amazing
Immagine being in a hopeless situation, fighting for your life, and God plays this track on his loudspeaker. Id reach to punch the sun, even as my entire body burns into a husk, as long as a fragment lands on it, i wont stop fighting.
Miyazawa must have glimpsed into the primordial current himself to write this part. It sounds like a dirge lamenting the loss of the general; but it‘s also reverance and celebration of the irrefutable greatness that left an impression on everyone
She went back to fix her mistake, one could say. Rather than give Radahn honorable combat in their first battle, she nuked him due to not being able to match him without throwing away her honor. Therefore, she sought to give the man what he truly deserved: An honorable death. Little did she know, and upon his death... the stars fell. ...And she would learn that she wasn't the only one holding back monsters.
I love the implications of this music with you cosplaying as Malenia. It's like Malenia realized the horror she put Radahn through, not wanting him to suffer such a fate despite being enemies... she decides to come by and put him out of his misery. Two of the greatest warriors in the Lands Between, one maddened by a plague, the other trying to right her wrong while also fighting off said plague's affliction of her own body.
I sang it in an Elden Ring concert, not knowing much of the music firstly. This was so incredibly epic that I've been stuck to listening it again and again since, desperately trying to sustain this feeling
I was about to post a comment saying this exact thing basically, one time right at 0:32 I remember Radahn starting his flying spin attack and it was so epic and sad that it really stuck with me
0:45 This is so awesome, I’m glad you chose this move for this part, I always think about it when I hear this part of the song. That move, where he breaks out of his circling tracking, feels like he’s breaking out of your orbit, roaring like a beast, then throwing meteors at you before becoming one himself.
@@Nen_niN carried away by her own knight. She may claim she has never known defeat, and her simps that this was just a stalemate, but damm, this has to be the most shameful stalemate Ive ever seen
@@fernandoreimpell2818 malenia is just an lil bitch doing nothing but sleeping until someone brings miquella to her while radahn was holding the fucking stars to protect the lands between from the beasts of the galaxy
@@amaimon8031they both lost in a greater perspective, malenia had awoken her transformation as a vessel for an outer god of rot and miquella was abducted by mohg, while radahn lost his mind while becoming a beast, the only things he was able to protect was leonard and the lands between from falling stars
The beginning of this part sounds like it’s trying to encapsulate the weaker version of Radahn you are currently fighting and how he basically lost his battle with Melania, but as it progresses, it rises and makes you feel like now you get why he was called the mightiest of the demigods and you see that one last time. The end also ends in a soft and reverent manor like the player is paying respects to Radahn after Ethel defeat him.
What I find cool about this guy is that his anger allows him to basically defy gravity. Making able to basically skateboard a horse while holding back the stars
Imagine if there was a special interaction if Jerren lands the killing blow, and it goes…. “Rest now, old friend. I have finally fulfilled your wish. An honorable death….”
I genuinely get the chills every time I hear this part of his theme. Radahn's theme is *so* fucking good. The way the mood shifts for the whole thing? Excellent.
I can only hope, that we can somehow fight Radahn in his prime in the DLC, since it looks like it's gonna do some time travel or dream shenanigans. Just imagine it, you enter the boss room and walk towards him with his full strength there. No rot, no arrows on his back, he has his feet, using gravity to lunge at you without Leonard and perhaps not holding back the stars... He wasn't called The Mightiest Demi-God of The Shattering for a reason.
love that they used this as his new dlc theme. Though I wish the first part was longer cuz I like Radahns ost more than Miquella... Its kinda like the Radagon + Elden Beast fight.
Radahn may have suffered from scarlet rot for many years after his battle with malenia Driving him mad Losing all sense of who he is But in the end he got his wish He died a glorious warrior's death
unlike most people and streamers i put music volume loud as fuck manually and this one boss track in particular hits righteous after his 2nd phase transition the first time i fought him. its one of his most underrated attributes
Bro, when I beat this boss after 5,5 hours in my no items run with no talismans, no heals and a +0-weapon this shit was playing and I felt like crying. Don't love the entire theme but this part just slaps so hard.
This right here is probably my fav boss fight so far both lore and gameplay wise. Still didnt beat the game but holy shit is Radahn an absolute legend, like it's one of the only boss fights where I not only somehow beated him with my first try, but I just know I wont even rage if I constantly died
@@n0t_the_plague_doctor343 nah he's still nerfed, he was extremely over nerfed before and now it's "just" over nerfed. Why does From do this anyways? all the less skilled or more desperate, less patient people just cheese everything they possibly can and ALSO use summons so why ruin the experience for the normal people?
51 tries. 51 tries it took me to beat him without summons. probably the best boss in gaming history, he taught me so much without summons, how to properly use stam, when to jump, when to punish & when to dodge, he definitely is the pinnacle boss of setting the player up for late game. ashamed he isn't required to progress through the story, radahn should've been a boss you had to beat, its sad knowing some people in their playthrough skipped him.
CHAMPIONS! WELCOME! THE STARS HAVE ALIGNED! THE FESTIVAL IS NIGH! GENERAL RADAHN, THE MIGHTIEST DEMIGOD OF THE SHATTERING AWAITS FOR YOU! CHAMPIONS, PREPARE FOR BATTLE! DEFEAT GENERAL RADAHN, CLAIM GLORY AND GRAB THAT GREAT RUNE! A CELEBRATION OF WAR, THEEE RADAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHNNNN FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSTIVAAAAALL
Malenia really did Radahn dirty like bro fought her with honor just for her to give him scarlet rot and turn him into a mindless husk of what he used to be and now his soldiers have solemly put their general to rest, the general who could've easily killed Malenia if he wanted to but he didn't
Sometimes I wonder where video game and cinema soundtracks, or even metal, would be without Wagner's influence. Dude was a major dick, but his effect on music is lasting.
