Young hungover russian playing very risky aggresive chess Edit: In the interview after the magnus game he said he didn't really care about the rest of the tourny as it was new year beating magnus was more important.
0:00 Hello everyone 0:22 Without further ado 1:44 Completely new game 1:57 Strikes in the centre 3:23 4:10 A lot of pressure 3:54 En passant 4:47 Very low on time 6:30 Extremely low on time 8:02 12:05 Give you a couple of seconds 8:12 12:16 Enjoy the show 8:59 9:41 Captures captures 9:32 Improves the position of his king 10:47 Double attack 11:57 Friends at the bar and the library 14:43 It was in this position 16:18 So yeah
Beautiful to see Raja return to his lethal best. To be able to hold and play the Kings Indian Defence at super GM level is perhaps his finest accolade.
@@stanleytime9193 yes easy to say after notable games by Raja and Nakamura. There was a time not so long ago when it was thought the bayonet attack had refuted KID lines. You are correct, but describing it as not hard is perhaps overstating the case.
@@mylovelyman2 Your stupidity is unreal. Before Radjabov and Nakamura, Kasparov played the KID with great success, using it in WC matches multiple times. Before that, it was Bobby Fischer's favourite reply to d4, and was also used by great players like Taimanov and Tal. Pretty much everyone played the KID from the 1960s to 2000 at least occasionally. Carlsen has used it. Almost every great player for the past few decades has used it at some point. The most notable names are, like I mentioned before, Kasparov, Tal and Fischer, as well as Geller, Taimanov, Polugaevsky, Vlemirovic, Nezhmedtinov and Topalov.
@@stanleytime9193 Do you think you could avoid throwing out personal insults or are you so desperate to prove your point that you feel the need to resort to it? I am very aware of the history of " our lady" but I was referring to modern theory. The question is the KID dubious or Sound is a question asked at many chess forums much like the modern Benoni or Sicilian Dragon, and I am aware of their pedigree too. If your intent is to petulantly hurl some more insult, then I will bid you good day and leave you with your fictitious victory.
@Earl Rogers well in the game he literally distroyed that kid , In whole 8 match dubov didnt even come close to winning , And when it comes to post match radjabov is same as Anish and jokes alot , I don't think dubov will mind it ..
@@ojaypopeyee179 Rajabov asked FIDE to postpone the candidates 2020 for the world championship to face magnus due to covid but they refused and he withdrew from the event. And MVL took his place and is now leading the Candidates as of now. Hence probably the fury is showing in his games as his prediction and recommendation to postpone eventually was heeded on but it was a little too late for him as he withdrew.
"but he missed it" actually made me recoil in my seat lol. That's why I love rapid as a spectator. Not only can I actually watch the games live within a reasonable amount of time, but seeing the missed moves, the checkmates on the board, so much more entertaining, especially live.
Happy New Year Antonio.... May God bless you and may you have a wonderful and healthy year ahead... Love from India💖 You are the most generous guy I've seen on RU-vid the friendly way you talk is just what makes me watch all your videos... Thank you so much😊
If white knight is sacrificed for the 2 pawns, black king captures f4 pawn immediately and black knight will capture the a pawn soon. b pawn easily queens with knight's help.
In the commentary..."Rajamov must have ice in his veins" . So true. I was really hoping Dubov will come back ...but he just lost the 2nd March as well.
At 9:28 Dubov could have played bishop captures pawn on h6 and now if pawn captures the knight to f6 picks up the rook and Dubov has a rook aganist a knight and bishop
If Dubov was to play bxh6, then Rajabov would have continued with re5 attacking the knight. When the knight moves or is defended, then only will you play gxh6
I managed to find both moves (the rook sacrifice came to my mind almost immediately). It's incredible how much my chess is improving thanks to this channel.
Happy New Year! Rajabov said the same thing I said yesterday, Dubov's aggression is his downfall. Obviously it works for him, but it struck Rajabov as reckless and easy enough to fend off since he is more of a defensive player anyway.
You covered a lot of games. I would love to see your top 10 games of 2020 and briefly cover them one more time in one video and explain why you think that they are the best
15:44 why can't you capture the pawn on h2 with the knight ? Pawn on g3 recaptures, white king captures black pawn on g3. The pawn on b5 can't move, because of a3, so it's a draw as the black knight doesn't have enough time to prevent the king from entering the pawns square, so that he can reach it in time ? I guess it isn't as easy as I thought, it else agadmator would've explained, could someone else explain please ? I’d really like to know.
Dubov wanted to be eliminated so he could go drink with his Russian family and friends at the bar and library while showing them his wins against magnus!
With ne5 @12:19, wouldn't Dubov have f3, followed by g5 and then ke3? That would keep Dubov's king in the square of the h4 pawn. Maybe I'm missing something
Dubov was second of magnus carlsen He understands magnus very closely and his success against magnus was not too surprising as magnus also stated Since returning radja has played super strong
Would be interesting finals if it continues as day 1. Radjabov ( Azerbaijan ) vs Levon ( Armenia ). Both countries dont like each other but i think those 2 players didnt support the war at all
Thank you for the video :) also I spotted the pawn check because I wanted to try and get the king out of the square but I missed the knight move taking away the squares so the king could not approach the position/would be forced away first. Great idea!
why not give up the knight for the 2 past pawns? seems more resilient, maybe rajabov could blunder since black needs at least 20 moves to checkmate. they are playing on seconds and can't make the best moves after all. happy new year
Thank you about your chanel , i know it in 2020 . I will watch chess every day in 2021 with you , and i hope your chanel will reached 1,000,000 sub soon ! My English is very bad , i'm learning it ," Sorry about that !"
Hey GMs in the comments, at about 9:20, could Bxh6 not be a free pawn? If black takes the bishop you fork with Nf6+ and go up the exchange. I presume black would not take and play something else but I don't see the refutation.
If only Dubov could temper some of his wild man tendencies, just a little, he would be right up there with the top candidates. One thing to be glad about though. The era of Petrosian and Kramnik style chess is finally taking a back seat to these shorter time control matches.
