Regular bent over rows are still a solid back exercise to include in back workouts and I'm not saying you need to stop doing them or that they don't have their own unique benefits.⁣

But if we're talking pure lat/upper back hypertrophy while minimizing unnecessary leg and low back fatigue, chest supported rowing variations are going to be ideal to build a bigger back overall.

Some how I feel my back muscles more when performing the standing bent over row than when lying on the bench. Thing is, somehow I can easily bring my shoulder blades together when stood than being on the bench hence the reason why I prefer the standing variation. The bench variation feels awkward for me.

@eugenechelseafc89

@@shahirali8235 thing is, the standing bent over row allows me to pop my chest out whilst I bring my shoulder blades together at the top to get that full contraction at the back. The bench, however, kinda takes that away. In addition I feel limited mobility wise and my arms will fatigue right before I'm able to pull the weights all the way up to really feel it on my back muscles.

A great option, but not one I do myself. Personally, I find chest supported movements (especially heavier ones Like rows) compress my chest too much and disrupts my breathing which then also disrupts my tempo, so I only save chest supported stuff for lighter movements like reverse flyes. but that's just me

But for upper one, with more weight I was putting on the road, the more pain in the lower back started occurring after the exersise.... So I did 2 things....on day one...I will do TBar, putting the weight come near upper chest... 2nd day...I do the exact same thing what you told.. Both of them..helped me negating the pain.
