Who came up with the idea of storing poisonous ovaries in salt for a year, then two years in rice bran with fermented sardine juice before grilling and eating it?
I am pretty sure fugu itself and its ovaries taste like nothing. It is just another hyped up nothing food that people like to eat because of exclusivity and thrill value. Overrated crap.
I’ve the utmost respect for Japanese people and their culture, but I don’t think it’s right to take fish from the oceans, even when done sparingly it imbalances the nature’s ecological balance. Respectfully.
