I did catch this one and pleased you found that useful. It came from decoupage on furniture and you always sand between layers of varnish to give a smooth finish. So I thought it must work on paper too. I love to watch your process videos I find them very relaxing too. Thank you for all you do xx
Andrea, who knew!! I LOVE the feel after the sanding! Thank you for the great tip! Hope you don't mind me chatting about you in my videos. You're my hero, you know! 😘❤️
Awww Gayle these tags are beautiful huni i am deffo using this trick to make my tags. Yes i did shout at the screen again lol.... Loving this series so so much. Ty huni xx
I wish that Hobby Lobby’s registers would be more computerized. So many times I have caught later that they did not honor the price at the rack. I think that by law they are obliged to, but if they are not told that the item is on sale, the clerk might not know. I want this journal!!!
Mary Gough I put all my items that I think are on sale on the counter first, leave the regular price ones in the cart and then I mention that these are on sale “is that correct” so many times I don’t buy an item because it is miss marked on the shelf...easier than going back to the store🐝don’t you just love Gayle 🐇
lol I made my own distress inker. I took a empty pill bottle and glued a little piece of felt on the top of it and it has lasted quite a while. It works until I can afford to get one!
Hi I'm June. Chelle recommended your channel. Just seeing this makes me know that I'm going to love your journals. Have to find # 1 of this series and watch from the begenning
Absolutely gorgeous Gayle. Just wanted to mention that after I sand the napkin I add a smidgen of crackle medium on it. Makes it look old if you want to just put a smidgen even on just some parts and not all over. Hugs from the land of Oz, see you for the next video.
Gayle you know those round felt pads you buy for the bottom of chairs? They are everywhere. One of the other girls I watch said she uses them because they are so much cheaper and they fit right on top of the round one. I’m going to try it when mine wears out.
Hi. Loving this series. The journal is coming along beautifully! Laughed so much with you about the Man on the Bush! Hysterical! Do you have a video on that it origami fold pocket, Love that idea. Thanks for sharing and inspiring! X-Susan
Hi Gayle I've been following along on this Christmas journal journey but I have to say the guy sitting on the leaf sent me over the edge. I can't stop laughing and I can't get the image out of my head. Bahahahahahah!!!!! Seriously though, beautiful job so far. TFS.
I love watching you create Gayle ❤️ i usually sit and do some tatting for my journals while i watch you. How long have you been doing the junk journals? You seem to have lots to work with. ❤️🙂💝
Awesome as always, Gayle! Really makes me want to make Christmas journals, maybe this week I'll have time. I'm blessed that my hubby loves to go with me to yard sales and estate sales, he's not a big fan of Hobby Lobby, but he humors me :- D. You always make me laugh, and this one was no different, I love The guy sitting in the bushes!!! Anxiously waiting for the next part! Hugs ~ Chelle
I'm really enjoying this series and I'll be rewatching once I start my Christmas journals. Just an FYI kitchen glass cutting mats work great as well and they are a lot cheaper! Tfs, Kay
You may have answered this somewhere on one of your videos...but why do you put wax paper (?) on the modge podge before closing it? Does it keep it from drying out? Or just makes it easier to open up?
do you have any issues with the Mod Podge being sticky when it is dry? My hubby worked for HL so he refuses to go in that store, and he owned his own arts and crafts store before we got married...the big ones bore him....but...he Loves garage sales!
Wow! A husband that owned an arts and craft store! Sounds like heaven to me!! 😄. Sometime times Mod Podge can be sticky, but this sanding technique would sure take care of that! ❤️
Wow that time just flew by...it was a lot of fun seeing how you made the tags and your eco dyeing was so awesome. It kinda sounds like a lot of work but the results are really cool! Thanks for the videos!
You're so right, Tammie! I did feel like the Eco dying was a lot of work for not that many pages. I could've coffee dyed whole bunches for the time it took to do the little stack of Eco dyed ones. But it was fun to be outside and looking at all the plants in my yard to see what might work. Then super fun to look at the results! Hugs! ❤️
LOL @ "Little Dude sitting in the bush"! We should make a song out of it! Does have a ring to it. For glass matts I do like the looks of Tim Holtz glass work peace he sells. I do like my 10 X 8 glass piece, bit small but for cutting fabrics it works great. Love the tags, inspired me to try this this week :)
The good thing about men not going to garage sales, craft stores etc. is that they will never know how much we actually spend. Lol. Love the tags. Sue 💜
OMG! Those tags are awesome! You have so many supplies. It’s great to get do something with all your neat scrapes & stuff! Probably many years of accumulations! I am going to have to make this journal. Have never made one but it is on my list. I am current in doing scrapbooks for my sons. Gave myself permission to finish next year. They were causing me stress cause it was taking too long to finish each page. You know as a crafter every spot has got to have something on it, love this series!!
Your eco-dyed paper is gorgeous. I love all the pretty colors. Would love to see how you made it. Having so much fun watching you make this journal. It’s coming along perfect. ❤️🎄❤️
I got my glass cutting board @ Walmart , Gayle and isn't the reason Andrea does her sanding the podged item is it smooths it right out and looks like a print? I love the Man's Christmas Journal. TFS! Judy
Thank you dear Gayle for this series, I have loved it. You made me laugh so hard I snorted with the guy sitting in the holly bushes, it was fun laughing with you. Xo
Gosh, Jessica, I wouldn't have a clue how to do the digital thing! I haven't gone there because I don't love sitting at the computer! 😄. But thanks so much for thinking I could!! ❤️
