I am finally working on my grandkids LGB journals. I have 7 to make now. The newest addition is my daughter and Son in law’s baby boy that is 1 month old. I love watching and listening to you. It’s like having someone to craft with. Something I have started doing is keeping my tacky glue or fabritac bottle upside down in a glass jar (cap on) with glass marbles (from dollar tree) in the bottom, that way I’m not fighting with getting the glue to come out. I have issues with not having a lot of strength in my hands due to carpal Tunnel so this helps a lot. Just thought I’d share.
Thanks for letting us craft with you. A tip for the trimmer: when using thin paper is to plant the blade into the item then slice up then down. Hope that makes sense.
crystal13l also it was upside down because holes should be on left side (kind to put in a notebook) - it would be easier if it was turned around, give you more to hold onto when cutting.
Hi Gayle! The cutter your using (when the paper crinkles like it was) works best if you lift the blade come in an inch sink the blade into the paper. then slide up through the top then slice on down the page. It may feel funny but it comes naturally after a while. Dig the ephemera. You have SO MUCH STUFF!

I’m really enjoying watching your videos on the LGB’s process. I thought for the paper doll pocket u could use book text and then glue a paper doll cut out or outfit on the text. I realize you have figure something out already but maybe in the future. Love your channel TFS❤️
I don't flinch when a trashy Dollar Tree book gets torn down to a fraction of its original size, but OUCH! to watch the Little Golden Books getting cut and pasted is a little hard to take. Sorry, Gayle. They were my introduction to literature and hold a very special place in my heart.
Rita, I hear you! My first books were LGB too! I buy the ones I make journals out of from the thrift store...one step away from the garbage. I feel like the journals I make for people to keep their memories in out the the LGB give them new life and a renewed purpose as a new type of keepsake. I keep my treasured LGB from my childhood, Nurse Nancy, in a special place on my bookshelf. I doubt I’ll ever make a journal from it. I love it just the way it is! I guess the folks that send theirs to the thrift store don’t feel the same. 😞. Just wanted you to know that they are special to me also and I definitely hear what you are saying. Love your journals with the Little Golden Books. Although I was surprised by the LGB titling. I thought it was the abbreviation for lesbian gay and bisexual. Glad it was little golden books. Lol.
I am just loving these videos! I have a suggestion for Dr. Dan book..use a real bandaid or bandage as ephemera somewhere! These are just going to be awesome!
I use that small trimmer ; I lay the paper on the wider side of the platform and I use the flat area where the ruler attaches as a paper guide and the grid on the platform . Sometimes if you go to fast that causes the paper to wrinkle . At times if the blade gets dull it also happens . Hope this helps !
Gayle, when your cutter does that glitch when you go to cut a page, start in the middle and go up and down to cut, it will not give you the glitch! :) Sandy

Gayle, I love watching all of you videos. I wanted to ask you if you had any ideas on how to incorporate old checks from closed bank accounts to incorporate into a junk journal. I have tons of them, most of them are the big business checks in greens and grays, but I don't want to use the part of the business name nor the account number. The things I came up with are flowers, mostly small ones, tiny envelopes, and tags. Anything else? Any other ideas, a video would be great from you. Thanks for all the time you take to inspire me. HI Linda, I just saw your comment....sorry for the late response! Love your ideas for old bank checks. Another quick thought that occurred to me was to fold the check in half long wise and wrap it on the edge of a page. I think that would look really fun! ❤️
Thank you for these videos. You keep me company while I organize my scraps. It's like having a friend over to craft with. That bag of scrap fibers, does the person you got it from have a web site? I tried googleing atamorefabrique but got nothing.
The best little cutter I got was the Cricut white and grey one. It is always on sale or coupon codes from auntie tay and it’s Nader 20 dollars,! P.s. it also has a scoring “blade”
Trimmers with that style of blade don’t like vintage paper. I always have to change the blade more often. I’ve noticed that it’s the worst with papers from the 20s and 30s; I think paper back then had a higher fiber content. When you notice it tearing the paper, it’s time to change the blade.
Hi Gayle, I just bought a bunch of those old books but not sure how to use them in crafts. It would be my first diy craft. Any suggestions on how to? You have inspired me to buy old stuff. I would have just admired old books in the past. Thanks.
gelica : Just jump in and start cutting to make all the things I did in this video and check out the next one with tags. Just cutting bits and pieces and putting them together to make tags. I go through the books while watching tv and cut out the images or pull out pages for later. ❤️

Hi Lydia! Yes, it's a Fiskars. I just don't use this little one much because I have a big one. But I agree, it's the best! I like it so much better than the Stampin Up cutter I have! ❤️
