@Detailers Business Academy, with Yvan Lacroix I guess so, I don't know. Is your wife not as fluent in English as you are, or do you two just prefer to speak French when not addressing the audience?
Ive learned so much from you! You have reshaped my whole perspective, i now look at everything from a business point of view. Ive become far more efficient and with better outcomes. Anything i buy now i question "how does this serve me and my customer" if its something i don't need, i dont buy it. My product costs have dropped dramatically and my work flow is much quicker. Thank you for giving so much back to the industry, youre a true star!
Man, you two did all of that in less time than it takes me to clean my car! Paint looks as good as it’s going to get. You could kind of see the scratches, and judging by your reaction as well as Sophie’s(priceless!) the prep work was not done. Personally, that might drive me nuts, as I’m not even a fan of the orange peel I see in my factory paint. Now that it’s as shiny as it is, it would probably highlight the lack of prep work that was done before the paint work. You’re a lucky man, Yvan! Everyone needs a Sophie!😁
You, your channels, and your comprehensive explanations have helped me so much. I’m in the process of starting my own mobile detailing business and your information has been an INVALUABLE asset in my journey. Can’t wait to see more. Thank you!
i'll feel complete in life, when my wife can do the second stage polishing after me. specially do it using rotary is the biggest dream of mine 🤣🤣🤣 Mr Yvan, you are the man of the century Ha,ha...
Silvia I definitely see a contrasting increase in the gloss enhanced after the ceramic coat was wiped off. Such a bright reflection has been demonstrated.
Thanks to your teachings this is what I do in my garage once or twice a week. No more traditional washes or trips to the coin operated car wash. To do a full exterior detail on my mid size suv takes me about 45 min to an hour using your system. This includes a rinseless wash (with pre treat) & dry - then go over the outside again with detail spray, then wheels, tires, and glass. I rotate between DIY detail rinseless wash and a couple others but I’m starting to become more familiar and confident with your rinseless wash.
Perfect timing! Great video was very majestic the way you both work together. Feel better Yvan. That was super quick the way it was decon polish and coated.
Just watching this car get more gloss moment by moment is awesome! At the end of the day if the customer is happy we did our job. I hope you feel better soon Yvan! Both of you made this detail fly by and I enjoyed. Still working on my French but J'ai aimé regarder cette vidéo. merci à vous deux de nous avoir accompagnés. J'espère que tu iras mieux bientôt!
J’adore vous entendre parler français!! Ça me fait toujours bizzare même après avoir écouté tant de vos vidéos .Great job with the car amazingly efficient
happy to see your new video I enjoy and learn a lot from your videos until sometime ago when I couldn't see any of your DBA videos thank God you are back I thought you have less time since you started the DIY show with nick
Did I see you paint enhance and your wife come back and polish, then you wiped off the residue? That is a time saver for sure! Question when you say reuse the leveling towel do you mean reuse it again for leveling another car in time? Or, reuse as like in a towel for jams, rims, tires, etc...?
Original is Sunburst Yellow 1992 Single Stage paint. Some signs its a repaint 1) if there's a clear coat and/or 2) if the sill between the front tire to the door to the rear tire is not painted black as it would be from the factory. Great teamwork as always!
Hey Yvan, i noticed that you went a little fast on the paint correction, on some other channels ive seen that they take their time and go slower on their passes and do smaller areas, why is it that you could go that fast? Is it Just experience or the pad and compound you are using that let you go that fast?
Allô! Petites questions pour vous: What was your speed on the DA and Rotary? Only rinseless wash in your Lake country system? Do i have to Do a polishing after using the wool pad? Comment peut-on savoir si un iron remover est compatible avec la Clay towel?(dont have the DIY iron remover yet) really loved the non editing video, help me see what is a real polishing and coating look like. Merci Yvan et Sylvie, c'est dans mon top 3 des meilleurs vidéos de détailling.
Merci Jean Marc Speed 3 DA, Speed 1Rotary Testing a future DIYDetail pad cleaner. If you have a light colour you may not see the difference, do a test spot, and if after the wool pad it looks up to your needs, your done. Try a drop of iron remover on the corner of your towel, allow to dwell, if it doesn’t soften the decontamination surface, it should be fine. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.
Not every job done here in Mexico is a bad job. There are really great automotive painters as well as detailers. Just saying ‘cause it seems like you’re inferring Mexico=mediocre job. That said, you’re right, thats a poorly done job haha. Great watching you both in such a synchronized manner. It’s like watching a perfect choreography from a great play. Question, is it possible to purchase your products and receive them in Mexico City?
Unfortunately no distributors have asked yet for DIY Detail products. Yes I’ve seen both good and bad bad paint jobs in every country, you get what you pay for
Just wanted to clarify, you used the iron remover spray as a lubricant with the clay towel? Once done with the entire vehicle, simply rinse off and dry? Great video on how to accomplish a seemingly big job in a short amount of time with awesome results! Thank you!
Hey Yvan, I was wondering for my business (with the DIY Detail line of course!) if I could polish the whole car, wipe it all down with rinseless wash, and instead of drying it as I go, come back around after with the rinseless on the surface to use the paint prep. This would save a bit of time, but not sure if there are any risks that would make the minimal time savings there worth it. Love these types of videos, each one I pick up a couple little tips and tricks for efficiency! Thanks :)
Hi Yvan, how would you complete this process with an extremely dirty car? Would you still opt for a rineseless process or stick to a traditional snowfoam/2 bucket wash method?
I had questions regarding your wash method with using the rinsless wash. Lets just say i had a really dirty car with a lot of bug spray, mud, and tar. Can i first use some d-limonene based citrus degreaser over the car, and then put some rinseless wash over before rinsing them both off together? I unfortunately dont have any products or equipment so i cant test this out myself, but my idea is that the degreaser would losen and disolve the tar, dirt, and so forth, whilst the rinseless wash would then lift all of it up and trap it in a lubricant. Could the degreaser possibly inhibit the rinseless wash's lubrication? Also another question. I was wanting to use a ceramic shampoo to spray onto my car with a foam cannon and let it sit before rinsing off. Can i do this after sponging down the car with the rinseless wash still on? Or would it not work as the rinseless wash would leave a lubricant film that would stop the ceramic shampoo from working properly? Thank you for your help!
Can you use Optimum Paint Prep the same way you used your DIY Paint prep? Just curious if you use it that way to avoid overspray? I always get so paranoid Im going to leave some polish residue behind.
How would the polishing process have differed if you only had a rotary? I'm very curious actually as to why you didn't use a rotary for the initial (correction) pass, because it was my understanding that a rotary cuts faster. Is it simply the case that you are making use of the polishers you happen to have at your disposal?
@@Detailers-Business-Academy that's fascinating - other detailers say the polar opposite - that a rotary cuts faster. You're the first I've heard to say this. 😃 I'll dig out a link which referenced a comprehensive comparison - the result was that a) a rotary cuts faster, but b) the overall time was faster with a DA, due to less stages being required with a DA. However, the test did NOT include your hybrid approach.
I haven't found the link yet. I think the test was run by Rupes - they had a group of pros do a thorough comparison - the overall time was about a third quicker with a DA. I do have another link though, from Esoteric Car Care - they did a similar test, with a "bunch of friends" who were sceptical about the DA. The result was that the DA was quicker overall, and achieved the same finish: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OtL7RZQdOOI.html I find it interesting how different pros at the top of their game come to different conclusions. I'm a very casual home DIYer, and have been using a rotary exclusively for some time now, with great results. (I only do enhancement - not heavy correction). It's comforting to know I'm not a weirdo. 😃 (a boutique detailing supplies shop DID try to convince me I was wrong to be using a rotary - I'm glad I ignored them!)
@@gregsullivan7408 here’s a video you may find interesting. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Vyz6P9XeYrw.html Pad technology has changed greatly, and with a DA specific pad it will cut faster for sure. I designed this pad for cutting with a DA. diydetail.com/products/gold-standard-wool-pad
J'adore votre pad washer. C'est quel model? J'utilise encore la première gérérationb de pad washer par Grit Guard. Je penses qu'il est temps que j'upgrade :)
How long do you have to wait before you can wash your car after it’s been ceramic coated? I applied the 8 year coating but wasn’t sure if it’s 1 or 2 weeks.
Applicateur et microfibre ds la meme solution de rinceless wash que le lavage après application? Est-ce que laisser quelques heures est préférable ou seulement 15-20min comme mentionné?
This is what the Internet lacked. Dear yvan could you please permit me to provide some part of this amazing video translated to farsi on my imstagram page?
