2020 here. Not sure how I'm just seeing these, but I think they need to start pumping things like this out at their local open courses while everything is on hold. What is the damn song I can't get outta my head? Heard it before and can't remember. Will research if not below in comments already
THIS is just one of the many reasons why disc golf is such an amazing game. In what other sport would you be able to watch the Best in the world play a goofy (yet real and entertaining) challenge such as this? Thanks to the unique state of disc golf, the humble accessibility of its greatest stars, and the tireless efforts of guys like Ian and everyone at CCDG, we get to enjoy footage like this for free on a regular basis. Thanks so much to everyone involved!
Fat daddy Cat stax I remember seeing on a collector page an Aviar from like the 80s in the bag. It said someone threw it some outrageous distance in the 600s. 641 I believe
Like seriously. What do you guys do to get these champs to make this awesome stuff??? Like really. I dont´t think any other sport pros would do this kind of stuff. They are almost as amazing as you CCDG. Thank you again for this amazing content!
I'm pretty sure the amazing thing is, it's a solid 50/50 chance that it was either the pros idea, or they volunteered for it directly. All those guys are so cool they are always willing to pull stuff like this. But CCDG got their connections and ideas of their own too :)
It’s because it’s fucking disc golf, it’s a niche sport, not popular... as far as pros go, disc golf is at the bottom, they’ll do anything for a few bucks
if you guys ever change the intro song I think I'll cry a little. it's become a comfortable uplifter as I prepare to watch the best sport told by the best commentators. New central coast videos are like Christmas for me
Definitely keep the song, Central Disc Golfers!! These are great moments to cherish forever!! And I totally dive in and get more pumped for disc golf everytime I watch any of your videos!!
This entire round has been absolutely the most entertaining by far. The intro skit still has me rolling laughing. Its really is nice to see the camaraderie of these guys in a more casual setting. Its also intriguing for newer players to see pros using the same discs they might have, in turn helping grow the sport. I really was laughing the entire time. I'm forwarding this straight to my daughter right now. Thank you! :)
Oh man... The actual footage is better than the promo! Just when we didn't think it was possible! Can't wait to see Top of the World from this! I love the fun stuff you guys are doing, CCDG. The Battle of the Eras, Champs v Chumps, Starter Pack. Great stuff!
Came back to this gem because I listened to the Running It with Nate Sexton podcast and they brought Ian on and brought this up. What an absolute masterpiece
I was in South Boulder today and thought I ran into Tai Lopez playing a round of golf. I thought "Holy crap! I know Tai Lopez drives a Lamborgini and can teach me about about Knaw-ledge, but I didn't know he played disc golf." Then I got a little closer and it turned out to be Eric Oakley. Still pretty cool. Eagle was there too but he's a kid. WTF does he know about Knaw-ledge?
I think next year you should do a disc draft where you go to a used sporting goods store and grab like 5 putters, 3 mid-ranges, and 4 max speed drivers then let them choose what discs they want to use. I can imagine some serious strategy and mind games before the round starts.
Holy shit it's santa cruz! Goddamn I miss living there, that course is fantastic. Thanks for putting this up, I love what your production team has done with disc golf contests
I've got a 145 DX Leopard that I got out of a starter pack. Holy crap it is the single most understable disc I've ever thrown. The slightest bit of power flips it totally over
I have watched this video over 5 times at least. To be completely honest, it is hilarious no matter what..especially Eagle opening up the watermelon and his devastated, kid-like reaction. lol. But honestly, you get to see how these pros handle DX plastic, which is considered for beginners. They are so lightweight and can be easily damaged/overturned. But these guys fight through and have pretty damn good control, not so much accuracy though. lol
How am I only finding these now? this is awesome! I bought a starter pack when I started, and soon after gave away all the discs, now I wish I would have kept them.
Screw the tour, these guys are funnier than The Monkees. Just film them going around the world acting like idiots. Have Simon guest star in drag as a female love interest every few shows.
Hey Ian, was thinking, you should do another starter pack challenge....but you should have two players from different companies use the other players starter pack (I.E. innova player will use DD and vice versa)
This is OSCAR worthy. I am so glad this came across my feed. It shows what these guys are capable of when you give the gift of creative freedom. CAN WE PLEASE GET MORE OF THESE ASAP? #SANTACRUZMAS #WATERMELONBLOOPER
Rewatching this for the first time in a long while, it's funny hearing Cory chastising Ian for calling the rough/bushes "the schule" since now it seems all commentary teams refer to it as such. Also, I completely forgot Eric Oakley played in this 🤔
Watching in 2020 for first time. Wtf? Lol. They definitely need to do some more stuff like this and the battle of the eras with all the pdga shut down for a bit
1:32 did u see their face when he threw the watermelon?? It’s obvious it broke and caused a huge mess lol! It was funny seeeing that, oh shit! smile and chuckle lol
