Need motivation? Start a sketchbook with me! I am super excited to finally begin a new sketchbook and I'll show you guys what I was inspired to paint on the inside cover to personalize it. While I am painting, I also mention some motivational tips! I love using mixed media supplies in my sketchbook and combining watercolor, colored pencils, and markers for my artwork. I must confess, it's so cool to meet another person who likes to rub the pages when they open a new book! I love that too! There's something so comforting and nostalgic about a clean block of paper. The newness, the texture, the untouched space...the moment when you know, "We're gonna make a good team!" 💕 By the way, I don't know why this awesome video has four dislikes. What is wrong with people.

More like 27 dislikes! Just ignore all the ✌🏻DISLIKING✌🏻 people, you are the best. Honestly, I say this to every RU-vidr because, 1) I like their videos, and motivation! 2)When I am in my mood. Mixed media always makes me so excited 😁 Also, I love that you used blue pen for the dark shadows and red pen for the medium shadows on the pot! Using 2 colors instead of only relying on distance between lines to show value is something I will definitely have to keep in mind when working on my penmanship!

Thank you for this video! I’m an artist who likes to mix media too and I’m starting a new sketchbook today. Sometimes it’s intimidating to start completely over because there’s so much potential and possibility in an empty sketchbook. But it’s nice to see how other artists approach it. This was very helpful!

I truly relate to tip #3 I left drawing after my first terminals in September but yesterday only I opened my sketchbook and got all those itchy hands to hold a paintbrush dipped in watercolors. Love u dear.

Just what I needed! I've been working non-stop for months now and whenever I've time for art, it just doesn't happen because I end up doing something else to relax. Wow Jess, you are such a positive person! And motivated, too! And now we know your secret😁😜 The first blank page of a sketchbook gives me jitters... But watching this video I can't wait to start a new sketchbook. Also, like you said, it's always good to draw from life...and even though covid 19 has limited the option of going out, I, too, stand on my balcony and sketch people and objects and buildings around me to keep my creative juices flowing. 😊 Anyway, long story short, your tips make a lot of sense, so thanks for those!💜 Great video! 💖
