@@khulekanimtungwa5475 its the same european gm small block not as rock solid, cause with another injection and some tweaks to make more horsepower, compared to new engines with regular oil changes and a minimum of maintance the engine run forever, problem on this cars is the rust
My father had a higher version of this (2.0L engine) in 1995. It had powered windows, digital clock and revolution meter (RPM meter). Anyway, I love this car because it equipped with ABS which is very modern at that time, not all cars in 1990s equipped with ABS like nowadays ( Airbag was equipped only on luxury cars).
2.0i 16v 150hp ? Here in UK we got these cars from late 1988 to late 1995 but they were called "Vauxhall Cavalier" instead of "Opel Vectra" they were good cars and almost everyone had one back in the day... I remember the engines were 1.4 to 2.5 v6 and there was a High performance version called "GSi Turbo 4x4" which featured the same 2.0 turbo (engine code "C20LET") from the Calibra turbo...
@@BITTYBOY121 I have one here in Brazil, with two hundred thousand kilometers. Year 1995. Here it is called chevrolet vectra. 2.0 8v 116hp engine. my daily car
@@BITTYBOY121 The 150hp version is the vectra GSI. Its engine is the C20XE, 2.0 16V, one of the best engines ever manufactured. Too bad the 4x4 turbo version didn't come to my country. :( In Brazil only three versions came: CD, GLS and GSI. CD (comfort diamond). GLS (Gran Luxe Super) both with 2.0 8v engine, cv20ne, 116hp. Lejetronic bosch electronic injection. The difference between them was the comfort items. And GSI (Grand sport injection) with C20XE, SFI injection. Mine is a vectra 1995 CD, fuller version, manual transmission and with a sunroof.
I have White Opel Vectra from year 1990, i started it after almost 10 years. And it works great! I bought it free because owner wanted to junk it. Its rusty but driveavable.
IN POLAND IT WAS KNOWN AS A POLICE CAR AS A FACELIFTED VERSION BUT IN THE UK IT WSS KNOWN AS VAUXHALL CAVALIER IT SOUNDED LIKE A PETROL! I THINK SINCE THERE IS NO REV COUNTER I COULD ONLY IMAGINE 2 ENGINES 1.1.6 LITRE WITH 71/75 HP OR A 1.8 LITRE WITH 90 HP :D
What an exhaust brill video as always i told my family you would get this started you always do only ever seen a few where it got you Keep up the good work Jätkake samas vaimus
I had a 1990 Cavalier hatch (UK Vauxhall version) for five years in the early 2000's great little car but like yours the sills rusted out along with the rear arches.
I think you'll need a, ahem, "Cavalier" attitude with this one... :P (For those who got the **whoosh** moment, this was the Mk.3 Vauxhall Cavalier in the UK!!)
mk1 and 2 cavilers were basically badge engineered opel ascondas, sold my corsa in 2018 and got a ford focus, maybe its patriotism going on holliday and calling every left hand drive opel a vauxhall, converting local currency to pounds. km to miles, liters to gallons
This is a very nice car,my grandpa has a 1996 red vectra a 1.6i,this looks exactly like his,but his is in almost perfect condition, the engine is so quiet, from the interior you can't hear a thing. He is taking care of it very nice.He owns this car for almost 11 years and it looks almost brand new👍He said he is never going to sell it
Mine was , how we say, a refined journey and didn’t speed(much😂)!! It was thirsty but I loved it, swapped it for a Omega elite, that was the biggest POS I’ve ever had🤣
@@Cavalier_Steve not as much as you’d think. It’s a heavy old girl and was given lazy gearing. It does over 100mph in 3rd though so that’s nice! With a few bolt on mods, power creeps over 200bhp and they can keep up pretty well with a stock turbo model. They’re a fantastic cruiser and I never want to get rid of mine
Great to see. Starts up no problem. Lools like a 1.6? I brought a 1.8 petrol model back to life earlier this year and now I drive a 1.7 turbo diesel one.
Тачка из того самого анекдота:завели в лес и слышат как она гниёт.....вообще,опель достаточно популярная машинка ,в своё время на Астре Г было весело кататься...до поломки (дважды) кассеты зажигания)
There's a saying that these run fast, because the rust is chasing them, lol. I'm still driving my dad's Vectra A 1.8 with a carburetor. This car has been in the family for more than 20 years, has 230 000km on the odometer and has been running like a clock to this day with very little maintenance. It's amazing how bulletproof these cars are compared to something more modern...
Opel sitting there 8 years the engine is good condition paint is still good needs battery gas full tank hope the seats are not torn stick shift key original awesome good flexliy bless you German vehicle around the world
It is the car that has a comfort of toyota camry with the corolla fuel economy. (1.6 8v version). I wish I had the 1.8 auto version of it for the city drive. Thanks for the video.
Im literally 13 and my g-pa have a running vectra a 1.8 when he passed away he told me to never sell this car and to take it as my first project i am too young for it i don't have money but i will try restoring it for my grandpa (;
If am not wrong this is 1.6 petrol by the sound i would say … I had one like this about some years ago , it was 1.6 Petrol . I had it some years but it was good car and good engine when you maintain it .Bas side is just corrosion only this . So just continue to record i like your videos ,respect for you and all.
this is the c16nz model. In my country (Tr) there were mostly c20xe, c20ne and x20xe models. There couldn't be a better compact car from the late 80's early 90's. As soon as I saw the car, Eric Clapton started playing in my subconscious.🎶
I had the Cavalier Turbo (red top engine) . Fast fun and looked OK. Rare cars. Great family car with speed as well all rolled into one. Had a cam pulley go and had to replace the valves, then a year later it started smoking and this was prob due damage done by earlier engine damage. Sold it on as non runner. Its still around today and featured in Performance vauxhall a few years back.
dear lord i had one of these in the 00s, and it had the same exact problems as this as, broken hose from the filter to the air mass sensor, rotting 'kick boards' under the doors, antenna snapped in low 1/3, moss and other junk at the fresh air intake which leaad to flooding of the footwells.... anyways loved it, 2 litre engine with some oopmh that still made 7ltr/100km
i have a opel omega B with a BMW M51 (2.5L diesel Inline 6) engine standing abandoned at a barn, currently trying to get it started, going pretty okay so far.
