Sounds weird but our SAAB 900S '97 has been our daily driver since 25 years. We still love it like the first day. With a little care and good quality parts, this type of car can last a lifetime. Thank you for the excellent video, was a great pleasure to see it. Greetings from Quebec, Canada
This and the civic started almost immediately most likely because it was in an enclosed storage that was out of the elements. Also, they are great cars. Great video!
Every time I see a Saab I feel nostalgic. My father owned back in the nineties a 900 (the old, true saab). Was a terrific car. Now that the brand is defunct and spares are nil the few that remain on sale in second hand markets go for peanuts. So sad it couldn't be saved...
Respect, after 6 years the Saab is in a very good shape! And the air pressure check.....i dont noch wy, but i love it......great job my friend and greetings from germany!
Yess Flexiny, thank you for reviving the 900🥰 Saab is one of my favorite brands and A V6 in a 900 is really rare. You should definitely restore it and sell or buy it.
I have never commented on your videos before because I appreciate your content which is fantastic but I felt like I had to comment on this absolutely fantastic video my friend 👍absolutely fantastic saab i used to have one and wish I still had it they were a better car than any of the rubbish that is manufactured today brilliant
Wow, starts almost immediately! great Saab, great V6, great video! I love your videos when you get those cars back to life again. And now this wonderful Saab - this one should be kept! Greets from a Saab guy ;-)
That looks a great old Saab, quite rare with that engine too. Even although they were based in a Vectra A you could never tell unless you looked underneath. I have 2 9-3 convertibles, one I saved from being scrapped a year ago.
I own a Saab 9000 cs 2000ccm.Turbo. I am completely satisfied with it! Confort,power,(150ps),good looking and all ways good performing! Maded1996 of course !
Saab 900ng this is iconic Swedish aircraft technology, one of the best car in world. Everything what done in Old Milenium will for last longer time. Sad that's not continuing production really solid car
I don't hear much about the V6 engines of these, so I can't comment on them, I do however know about the 2.0 Turbo engines in these as my dad owns one. It sounds real good and I love it
It is nice to see a Saab with an engine other than an I-4 turbo. In the US, the 900 had a V-6 option only from 1994 to 1998. It is a shame that Saab cars are gone.
Saab cars are gone because the quality fell to dire even with a full dealer service history. I had the 900SE V6 Auto, everything broke or leaked or fell apart on it by 120,000 miles. The V6 2.5 was a good engine - but service costs were high, the induction manifold needs to be unbolted to replace the plugs in the rear bank and the timing belt was 3 years / 36,000 miles and again costly to change. Still it raised a smile to see a V6 that is runnable.
Sounds like valve or something similar is making a noise that isn’t entirely good, or does the engine need an oil change and a bit of driving to become 6-cylinder smooth?
Reliable as hell those GM C25XE engines. Cam belt is due every 4 years or 40k though so I’d look at changing that and the cam covers for metal ones to stop oil leaking onto the exhaust manifolds
And waterpump has to be changed everytime you change cambelt on these, as the pump rarely lasts any longer than the belt. I had Omega B with this engine, so I know the drill with these. Otherwise, these were bulletproof engines with basic maintenance.
What are the plans for this thing? I have a '99 9-3 and this machine is so familiar yet also pretty alien with that engine :) Rust will probably be an issue knowing Saabs.
I've owned six SAABs, in order, a 1997 900S 2.3 5dr, 1999 9-5SE 2.3t wagon, 1997 900SE 2.0T 3dr (still have), 1994 9000CS 2.3t liftback, 1997 900S 2.3 convertible, and a 1989 900T 3dr (still have). never seen or owned one of the V6 NG900's though! they didn't sell well here, nor did the few they did last very long. also, if that's truly a 1993 model year, that makes it a very, very early production NG900.
yes in the US, at least, the first model year for these was 1994. This one has to be pretty early based on that steering wheel, though. I heard the timing belt interval on these v6 engines was something insane like 30,000 miles. that is why you never seem them anymore lol.
Thst a 96 or 97 900 SE, not a 93. I think it's a 1997 900 SE B206I (NG900) and I think I counted only 4 plugs, they did make a 2.5 lt V6 no Turbo B258I. They also had a Saab 900 Talladega, which was one of my 6 Saabs, I had a 99 Viggen tuned and I just bought a 05 ARC convertible tuned to 280 HP..they are great cars...
