Today I'm starting seeds for zinnia, celosia, pink dandelion and black sesame. Also have some updates on my tomato, cotton and beet seedlings. And a look at the walking stick kale, filderkraut cabbage and elderberry cuttings. Growing season has finally arrived to zone 7A.

Ooo, Happy Frog is fancy, and really good. Sounds like you have a great local resource. Love those exquisite zinnias 😲🌸 Elderberry cuttings! 🙌 Love your grow space and The Cure poster 😍 Happy seed starting! 🌱🪴

Thanks! I do love the Happy Frog! And that Cure poster I have had since probably the late 90's. It has traveled with and been hung up somewhere in each place I've lived 🙂

We've been so warm for the last month I feel like I'm behind in getting the garden planted. But our average last frost date is April 17 so we could still have a frost or a freeze so I'm reining myself in and waiting until May to get those tomato plants set out.

Our weather keeps going back and forth, but my last frost date is about a week after yours, so I'm definitely waiting to put anything outside except the cool weather crops. (Not that my seedlings are big enough yet anyway. lol).

OMG, your Basil is gorgeous! I bought organic basil plant ( lots of small plants in the container) at the grocery store. It was starting to die so I transplanted each one into potting soil and they all died😢 Any advice how to keep Basil?

I normally just start basil inside and then transplant it outside after my last frost. This is the first time I've maintained one inside for a while. Mine is just in regular potting soil, and they are in the mini greenhouses with the other seedlings where it is pretty hot and humid during the day and around 65 at night. I also keep pruning it back as it grows up into the lights. You can also propagate basil by taking a cutting and putting it in water. It will start new roots and then you can plant that.
