We use a method known as Back to Eden gardening. We do a mix of seed starters and then seeds directly into the soil. This gardening venture, will, or may, lead you into canning and preserving. It becomes a lifestyle as much as it is a hobby. It will come…don’t get discouraged. Don’t over science it…

You’re going to do awesome!! Accept going in that there are two major factors involved. First, there is a learning curve but the internet, particularly RU-vid, is an ocean of different ways to do gardening and you’ve just got to swim through it till you find the stroke that you are most comfortable with. You WILL get EARTHY ( which is getting good dirty…you’re gonna love it )! Second, things grow!! Think about it!! An acorn falls from a tree, lands on the ground and a tree grows! Not from every single acorn but, from enough. God is the best gardener and you just tend to it!! 🤣🤣🤣 Lucy and the 🍇!! This is as much mental as it is physical. Nothing beats going out into your backyard garden, picking fresh vegetables and eating from your own toil! What you are doing, EVERYONE, had to start with! There will be failures! There’s gonna be bugs and fungus, and blight, and you’re going to have times of frustration and, times of pure joy! You can do this!!!!

@@Curtis1824 the ‘fun’ aspects, WILL be challenged. But the self sustaining satisfaction…is absolutely empowering!! When you realize you CAN do it and yes, it CAN be fun…it will become and addiction!!😁 What really gives me joy, beyond eating what we grow, is the realization of the power of God to make it all possible!! 😁 Gardening really is a hobby you can absolutely morph into doing all year long…even through the dead of winter inside!! Then comes the chickens and ducks…maybe geese…and for us it was rabbits and we hope to this year add a mini cow or two…some folks get into goats or sheep. You just can not ever get the pleasure of country life on a mini farm homestead, in any city in any way ever!! I’m 62 and if I ever find myself in a city of any size, I get outta there faster than anyone can get in!! City dwellers are not sustainable…they are fully dependent on a someone else for survival. I really hope this gets into your soul…honest…the country…gives life! Okay…off my soap!!😁❤️

Nothing better than homegrown vegetables! Our planting season is May 15 - June 1. Gardening takes a lot of time, have to work at it everyday! Are you putting down black plastic and punching holes to plant in? Controls the weeds much better. Otherwise pull weeds early and often!

We haven't quite figured out the planting situation yet. We'll be getting our garden ready over the next few videos hopefully!

Here's what I know about gardening......... 🤣 Yet I have a tiller for my tractor so I can help others, including several neighbors with gardens, get their gardens started a little easier now!😁 Gardening is definitely too much "outside" for me, that's why my tractor and mini ex have cab's with heat & A/C..🤣 But it will be fun to follow along and learn along with you two on this new gardening adventure. 👍

We’re definitely looking forward to our gardening adventure! We’ve got some good sprouts coming up! You can definitely relate with Lauren with not liking to be outside!
