Noooo. Don’t stop there… now that I know it can run we need to see it on the road! Why? Cause I need some inspiration on how to address my rust bucket, specifically frame repairs. Awesome job! Was so suspenseful with the fire, the audible changes in engine sounds as it got closer and closer to running. Really neat trick with the liquid metal on the manifold, I’ll need to give that a try
Pinhead has an awesome in depth tutorial series on rebuilding the carb, I’m a total dope and I’ve successfully rebuilt two landcruiser carbs following his lead. Grt work on getting this old piggie going again! Keep the videos soming
You can't stop there let's keep going we got more to fix and adjustments to make we got this video is turffic loved it but we can't stop we got to go over the top never miss a video can't wait for next one as always thanks for sharing and your time was really great.
I really enjoyed this land cruiser series. Your fantastic. Thank you so much for the time you put in. I would bring my car to you anytime. Pity your not in Ireland 🙃
It is alive! Great job getting it running, all you you need is to hook a gas can and maybe you van get it to run long to get the timing and carb right.
I think the ball on the flywheel represents the factory advance of 7' if you keep turning just a little you should see a faint line representing TDC. And congrats on getting it started!
Fill the carb with gas thru the vent pipe (pipe / tube sticking out at the top of carb at at a angle) close choke crank over and pump the gas it will start if all else is correct
I'm watching another one of your videos, did you try different ways to install the valve cover gasket, such as flip it over or swap ends.like your videos have a good day.
The reason the GM distributor fits is that the Toyota F engine is a loose copy of an old GMC straight six. Note that I said GMC, not Chevrolet. Up through the early 60's Chevrolet and GMC engines were different designs, with the GMC being notably more heavy duty, with pressurized oiling and such.
If cork gaskets dry out and shrink, soak the Mina light oil overnight. This will obviously squeeze out when you tighten them down causing them to look like they are leaking so a little patience and clean rags will be required. Plus and active or robotic arm of coarse.
Hello she fires did you have gas connected to it? I know break cleaner works but quick start works better. I would think it would need a minute maybe running get the oil going since you changed oil and need time fill up oil filter. I have put a bottle gas and let gravity feed into carb. Watch out fire been there lol. Have a great day.
Yeppers,,soak cork gasgets in oil..it will fit,and the oil will push out when it gets tightened down,,,and if you don't know,,you don't know,,,no big deal,,I ran it to that when I was in high school,,I told my shop instructor, this ford was kicking my ass,I can get these cork gasgets to fit, he told ne the ole trick of soaking them in oil,,,
WHAT!!! You can't just leave us hanging on this... You need to get it running well enough to get to Home Depot with it. You know if you just abandon it now, it will never be driveable.
