I've always wanted to draw but had no confidence to do anything other than doodle. After watching just 2 of your videos I feel so confident abd positive and my doodles have become sketches! Thank you! Already shown 2 more people
Quarantine have me wanting to learn something new. I'm hooked on these videos been watching them the entire day and did 2 drawings. My family was shocked at how good they turned out.
I like the fact that in this tutorial the drawing is pretty much real time and not sped up. I understand that sometimes it has to be done that way for repetitive tasks, like filling in, but at times when I try to duplicate and/or practice the exercise I tend to rush it unrealistically, subconsciously forgetting that it is not real time.
Why didn't I have an nice straightforward enthusiastic art teacher like Paul Priestley when I was at school? So glad these videos mean it's never too late....
Mr. Priestly, I have to say THANK YOU a "million" times---because of the ease of your lessons, I'm relearning to draw after a massive injury to my right shoulder (my dominant hand and arm, of course!), an injury that could not at the time it was incurred, nor can be now, operated on. I've had to relearn to use my arm in a way that just isn't normal, and really thought I would have to either give up on drawing altogether (UNTHINKABLE! UNACCEPTABLE!), or would have to deal with the immense pain that my usual arm position required. I don't know why, but since following your lessons, I've realized that I don't have to have my arm in that particular position, and that the old way I was taught wasn't at all necessary in order to draw again. In other words, sir, your lessons have given me much happiness and joy as I relearn to draw, just modifying my arm position (it looks weird to anyone watching, so I never let anyone watch me---I spend too much time defending myself, and that's a waste of creative time). I'm drawing every day now, mostly from your lessons, and am "having a "ball"" doing so. Thank you again, sir, and I look forward to getting into more lessons daily (I save everything I find that you've posted so that I have a very decent library to refer to).
I think you know where the future lies. 1. There is no such thing as 'normal' - the way you draw is the way you draw, be proud of your achievement of drawing again. 2. 'I spend too much time defending myself, and that's a waste of creative time.' So don't defend yourself anymore, it's not a problem - enjoy the drawing. Cheers Paul
I am starting to learn drawing, and with your videos I am learning a lot. I practise then come back to watch the same video again and again just to enjoy :-) Thank you for this amazing teaching... 😍

Your videos are some of the best art instruction videos I've seen online. Thank you for providing great material and instruction in the most simplest way. It really helps. You are a great instructor!!!
I've started drawing like a week ago! going back and forth not knowing where to focus , I've bought a sketch book and some pencils, and i started to sketch some rocks , trees and practicing on the shadow perspective , but what i really wanted is : the correct way to hold your pencil ✏️ bcs that's how u improve your drawings , u have to build your "muscle memory" by practicing a lot right? And u have no idea how happy i am rn , bcs i finally found someone talking about the correct way to hold the pencil 🙏🏻 u r a life saver and a great teacher tbh ❤️ your videos are amazing too 👏🏻 Thank you so much 🙏🏻

Hi, I love your tutorials :) I just started to learn sketching. I was never good at it and literally my drawing looked like some monkey was drawing it. Now it's getting better after week of everyday practise and that is thank to you. My question is: is it ok that I use lot of construction lines and some axes and measurement lines to make sketch look better? I can't just draw it on first like you :)
I'm really hooked up with your tutorials, I really love how passionate you are, and it is contagious. Sorry for not watching frequently as I always do some drills for a few days after watching your vids. Love from Malaysia 🇲🇾
