As a N12 mini owner I feel a lot the pain, I stripped mine to do the head and timing chain last year with little mechanical knowledge. Great to see the process. 👍

Good job mate but you will need that ecu holder out makes your life easy when removing the mount for the box also take the clutch line from the firewall also will need the scuttle panel out to get the wire for the starter to battery someone who strips these day in day out just some helpful tips

The engine looks the same as the one in my Citroen. In fact I have used some BMW replacement parts for my engine as sometimes they are cheaper.

There was a wheeler dealer in America that had one of these minis he also took the engine out i think just for a very small hose that you can not get too ,,check it out worth the watch could give you a lot of help

@@GeorgeAusters hi yes it was a mike brewer and ant was the fitter he was the one who replaced edd china it was a Mini Cooper like yours even the same colour ,,i am sure it would be on RU-vid just look for wheeler dealer Mini Cooper ,,i will also have a look for you but it is a very small hose mabee down by the bulk head or under the turbo 👍

George so sorry i found the video and it was on a MK1 MR2 but i did find the mini they was working on only for some reason it is overdub in Russion all so it was the mini fitted with a Blower not a Turbo which cooper do you have,,,,once again sorry for the wrong information

New project. Exciting, I am wondering to see what is going on inside that engine. I want to give you an advice, sorry. It's very loud when you are working with electronic tools. It would be perfect if you would erase those noises when editing.

All!! The BMW minis have a design flaw. Look at the way the engine is mounted to the body. The classic mini's mounted to the block but new mini's mounted to the head. Let me know how many head gaskets you change 😂

Problem is these cars need to maintain regularly unfortunately previous owners do not look after them hence the Problems .

Can i applaud you on making a video that explains thing just enough without going into the smallest of detail, nothing worse than these video that shows every single nut & bolt you removing & how to remove them, all it needs is a "there is 2 bolts here that need removing" without pointing a camera at what your doing or showing a shed load of pointless timelaps!

Thought that was my old car for a minute, identical to my old Cooper S and funny old thing mine broke a piston and damaged the wall on cylinder 4. The best and worst car I think I’ve owned, the best because I loved the way it drove but the worst reliability of any car I’ve owned. It leaked like oil from everywhere, it burnt oil and it had a top end misfire that I never found.

Yep best to rebuild these engines after a while to solve all those common problems👍🏻
