This video is one of the most comprehensive and professional Mini Series for DIY'ers I have seen. I will be subscribing, donating and hoping for more content. The pace; clarity of your camera shots surrounding torque specs and repair techniques is too often missed. Love the setting and hope the neighbors are not upset😁

@10:05 use a shorter extension, or not at all if you don’t need one. Makes torquing a lot easier

I took the engine block away from Barum the same day.. Just need to find a couple of days to get it all checked and built!

I enjoyed your video , i wish though you had shown how much a struggle it would be refitting the subframe on your own as i,m considering dropping the sub frame on my mini clubman for a clean up as i think it must have spent some time at the bottom of the sea!😀, nevertheless i did enjoy your video .

My only thought was how are you going to get the drives shafts in now you have lovingly built up the entire subframe?

Driveshafts go on top of the subframe mate👍🏻

Very good point, in my experience George would be better off leaving the bottom swivel joints out allowing movement of the front strut. That way when putting the engine and box back in the drive shafts can go in afterwards.

Genuine question and not intended to be a criticism but shouldn’t you have the weight of the car on the hubs before you torque them up to the struts?

To refurbish the subframe with all new OEM parts you’re talking in the region of around £500-700 for the parts

Hi George, do you know the specs for clearances of N47D20C for Main and Big end Bearings, as well as piston Rings, I have been searching the internet and I can't find any.

Ring gaps are in Haynes manual but no oil clearances, think you just have to go off of the journal sizes
