This would also be really fun to make as a tree skirt for Christmas. Just leave out the center part and add binding to the inner circle. Cute idea to make a matching tree skirt and table topper for a gift. Thanks for the wonderful video! You're awesome and now I want pizza!
I guess im randomly asking but does any of you know a method to get back into an instagram account?? I somehow forgot the password. I would love any assistance you can offer me.
Finally !!!! Something for us with a round dinette table :) I see a dark rust center tone on tone with shades of yellow wedges...yup...going for a sunflower look ! LOL
I was so excited to get this notification this morning. I've missed having something new from you. Great technique but I knew you would have to add some FMQ. See you again soon I hope.
If I told you how often I used the ol' "I'll make dinner if you get the kids out of here" trick in order to have alone-time sewing, you'd never believe me. My husband got wise a little too quickly for my liking. PS - The music sounds like a 70's TV show is about start at any second! Love that!
Maybe another way to make the wedge would be to use a Dresden template. I saw it immediately when you made the first cut!!! Thank you Angela for yet another great video.
Very awesome. Super simple and easy to get started on my day off.ty for the video and enjoy your supper.going to give it a try n see if I can take notes n pause as I try n follow it.looks amazing n fun.now all I have to do is get a bottle of wine to follow.enjoy your bubbly.xoxo🍷👊🙋😵👍✍
you make the quilt so easy angela , is it also easy with silk as it in cotton !! i wish it is because i intent to do it in silk i wish i can see one is quilted with silk :)
Did I miss something--or are the edges of the center circle and the two background fabric wedges raw? When all the other edges are covered, wouldn't these raw edges be a distraction? There must be a different way to piece this.
Holy smokes! This would take me several hours!!! How long did it take you? "In the time that it takes to order a pizza"....pfff....I wish, lol. ;D Lovely project and beautiful fabric!
I too like the tree skirt idea. You wouldn't have to use the unsightly looking filler wedges and center circle. I like the fabric/color choices. This would look great with any mod fabrics.
Hi, I am a new quilter and I have a big problem, hope someone can help me PLEASE!I I have finished my quilt top and I added two borders, but I must have stretched the fabric of the inner border as I ironed it . I sewed the outer border on to the first and Now my quilt does not lay flat on my batting. Can anyone help me with this problem please? I can resew the borders on again, however, I do not have anymore material of the fabric I stretched. :( Thank you in advance for your help. Reba
Once you're ready to add borders, measure the length of the quilt through the center, not on each side. Cut the border pieces the same length as your length measurement. Ease them in, don't stretch them, and they will fit perfectly--no waving borders.Repeat for the width.
Why can't you just keep the patterned fabric in a rectangle, sew contrasting solid bands on top and bottom to make a stripe, and then cut the wedges afterwards with a ruler, alternating with the direction each time? It'll save so many scraps and be way quicker. And also, how come the inserted panels finished with raw edges They probably should have been turned in? Usually your patterns are really good, this one seems just really strangely designed.
I thought the same thing. And I don't see how using the quilt as you go method saves time in this case. It is a small table topper. You would probably have a better result of you just pieced the top, then quilted it.
I’m new to the channel wonder if you can answer this for me I use a brother sq9185 machine and do all my quilting lines by hand with embroidery floss can I free style quilt with that machine?
loriar1027 generally I would....... but this sewing machine is new to me by via inheritance I don’t have a manual with it but the feed dogs can be dropped and I’ve been RU-viding everything I can about it my aunt, grandma, mom and myself all used singer foot operated sewing machines to make civil war ball gowns and clothing for civil war rendezvous we also used to spin our own thread on a spinning wheel and loomed our own fabric my main focus at that time was just spinning threads and looming fabric I did some sewing but not a lot at that time..... since the passing of my grandma and aunt I’ve been mainly working with skins and hides but I have bolts and rounds of fabric that is absolutely amazing that was loomed by myself and aunt and grandma I thought it would be great to make a commemorative quilt for my grandpa and mom aunt of the fabrics and threads that we all have spun and loomed and I appreciate your reply very much!!!!
I've looked for them elsewhere and I think I found that she's the only distributor nationwide. I need really small ones and they're always out of stock! 😭
This turned out really cute, not a fan of raw edges, but easy to change that.If you know the finished size, why start with such large pieces of batting and background? Seem to me a great deal of wasted fabric in this project. Or you just made more scraps.
loriar1027 There are raw edges around the centerpiece and the two wide strips that were fused to connect all the wedges. The edges were not turned under when she sewed them on top of the batting . If you look at them when she quilted it you can see the loose threads from the fabrics. I'm not the only person who commented on this fact.
