The moral of the story is boost stats by boosting stats that are different to the stats you want to boost :D

Great question! But the badge boost glitch was fixed in stadium (along with a few other gen 1 glitches), and there are no badge boosts at all in link cable battles, so no badge boosts = no badge boost glitch!

So badge boosts are only applied to the active Pokémon you're using in a battle, you send our your Venusaur, he'll get the normal badge boosts from any badges you have collected, and every time he uses Growth he'll get a boosted special and his other stats (that you have badges for) will get the badge boost glitch. But when you switch Pokémon, those boosts are lost and your new Pokémon will just be starting with the base badge boosts (until they use a stat altering move or get hit by one) :)

Unfortunately not! So any type of stat boosting is only temporary and only affects your active Pokémon in battle. So if you have a Pokémon with 20 attack outside of battle (you check their stats in the menu page and attack says 20), if you have Brock's badge when you enter a fight that Pokemon's attack will now by 20 + 12.5% = 22. Then you use defense curl and get the badge boost glitch applied to your attack, giving you another +12.5% taking you to 24. But when you finish the battle and check your stats in the menu, that Pokémon will still show as having attack 20, cus all the boosting was only temporary :) The only way to permanently increase stats is with vitamins, statexp and level ups!

Hey thanks for the comment! Yes the next pokemaths I'm working on is DVs and StatExp (which is the gen 1/2 equivalent of IVs and EVs), and i'll get around to gen 3+ in the future :)

I guess being level 50 and onix having some good defense! I was surprised too!

@@kangaskdan that’s crazy I feel like any Pokémon with 999 attack would 1 hit anything regardless of level hmm

@danielmagallanes8117 I checked the damage calcs and with kakuna at 999 attack and onix with his mod 0 defense of 183, the hyper beam would have one shot, the only explanation for onix surviving is Bruno must have used one X defend (if kakuna low rolled he would have left onix on 6 hp) or more likely two X defends! Il have to try and find my original footage to double check but I reckon that's what happened :D
