@F. A.Soviet version: Partiya Lenina sila narodnaya. Russian version: Predkami dannaya, mudrost narodnaya. Mouth movements are aimilar but are not exactly the same but they *mostly* sang the Russian version.

What I find the funniest of all, is not the fact that the Soviet Anthem is playing (could be honest mistake, as they have the same background tune) but the fact that they are playing it in a match against Germany. This I find a highly suspicious coincidence :))

They are not, they’re countering it by singing the Russian anthem which has the same melody but different lyrics When it says “Partiya Lenina, Sila Narodnaya” the players sing “Predkami dannaya mudrost narodnaya” but somehow their lips sync perfectly at this moment with the Soviet anthem

Absolutely inspiring to see those young proud guys sing the beautiful Soviet anthem. Maybe I am old and outdated, but I still feel those words talk about a great dream of unity and justice. It is true that things didn't work according to the plan, but the ideal was a more than respectable one. And here I am, at 46, almost with tears in my eyes, singing along with these proud men.

I was born in the USSR in 1977 (41). I was a pioneer of the Communist Party, I wore a red tie, a badge with Lenin, and I also remember the words of the anthem. But the USSR was a people's prison. A good little.

for those saying they are actually singing the russian federation anthem just read the players lips on 0:53 ("Partyia Lenina") and see they are singing the Soviet Anthem. And power to them, they have every reason to be very proud of it and of what it represented

He's not, right on your timestamp, their lips make an "M" motion, so they can't be singing "Partyia Lenina" because there's no M in there, there is in "Predkami dannaya" which is the Russian anthem. So either the Soviet anthem was edited into the video, or that guy is singing the Russian anthem despite the Soviet one being played. And I believe the first is most likely, if they were indeed playing the Soviet anthem I believe most would just remain silent.

Well, I think it is Beyond any doubt that they are singing the Soviet Anthem: I know all the words since I was 6 years old, and anyone speaking Russian will confirm. Some of the players are quite Young and don't know the text, but it is clear that they are singing - or trying to sing - the Soviet Anthem. You should not focus just on the "Partyia Lenina" part. Check the rest: "Slavsa otechestvo nashe svabodnoye" is crystal clear on their lips, and also the rest. Maybe not ALL of them are singing the Soviet Anthem, but it looks like many of them are. And by the way, I applaud to them for that.

Although not that many Russians really want Communism back but they does honor the achievements of the USSR and remember the glorious days of the Soviet Union. They even march on Victory day with the Soviet and Communist flags/ symbols which not that many countries who switched from Communism to Republic/ Federation would do. That is the thing I love about Russians, they honor the achievements of the USSR despite not wanting Communism back.
