Grandpa of my friend that fought in Korea, Vietnam helped afghans stand against soviets fought in Greece during civil war ( he got 18 almost before the beginning ) decided to ride into my house on house and destroy everything he could see just to hear this anthem better!
There wasn't a one anthem in this period. Khrushchev replaced the line "the red soviet banner of the people leads us to victory" to "the cpsu leads us to communism" some say it was a sign of bureaucracy
