Even if you look throughout history such attempts at eliminating populations had always backfired with tremendous force. But more than that, why not carve out a homeland for those people who wishes to join India and let go the others who do not, it is simple, the mechanisms of doing that is already there across the world and there had been no better time to implement such a well intentioned idea, it will cement the homeland of Kashmiri pandits and it will provide homeland for the other Kashmiris too. But let me tell you one thing, given a choice, none of those groups would be happy to join either Pakistan or remain with India. For example under a hypothetical situation where Kashmiri hindus & Muslims get political control over the places where they are majority and given security through an accepted world body which could be the UN or any other body of their choices and ensured access to international sea ports through India & Pakistan or get fair share of resources needed for survival I am sure none of them would side with either India or Pakistan. And, that actually brings the core argument in focus, are they willingly or unwillingly with India & Pakistan. If you people are so sure why not just hold a free & fair election executed & monitored by the UN , why keep this bloody stuff lingering for ever, who takes responsibility for the continuing violation of human dignity, why remain responsible for repeat of these events to your future generation. Why not try to find a credible solution why just keep on blaming each other
