Greatest rhythm guitar player in the world. The fusion of the two telecasters is such a perfect sound. Rossi and Parfittt are so underrated it's criminal.
@@mikesmith22050 This video gives you a good look at the guitars. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wLiYrFysZUc.html&pp=ygUZdGhlIGd1aXRhcnMgb2Ygc3RhdHVzIHF1bw%3D%3D
@@mikesmith22050 Both guitars had the back part of the bridge/pickup plate cut off and different bridges installed; Parfitt's with a Jr. style wraparound bolted to the body, but the strings still run through the body, Rossi's has a tune-o-matic style bridge and 3 Strat size rail humbucker pickups. Rossi used to have G&L MFD pickups at one time. They're still tele-ish, I guess.
I watched an interview with Lemmy where he said "all the best guitarists pluck up as well as down, anyone can strum down but it takes real skill to go up n down". Rick was pure talent.
Die "Alten" können es immer noch und immer wieder ! Das war übrigens der erste Cover Song, den ich als 14 jähriger 🤔 mit meiner ersten Band ( Flyride) gespielt und auf LP gebracht habe ... R.I.P. Rick !
I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Rick on 2 occasions. He was always an absolute gentleman ... so polite, courteous and very very witty. Such a loss...
Awesome. I left Linkin Park after twenty minutes so that my young kids could witness The Mighty Quo. They still talk about it now. And they feel blessed to have seen Rick Parfitt.
Good man Matt. Some of my best memories are of going to see the mighty Quo with my old man! 😊 I was at this one too… my pals went to LP but glad I stayed. My last time seeing Rick Parfitt hammer this one out.
From the first time I saw em at Cardiff Castle in 1978, they were my favourite band..to see Rick there, back to the amps and sawing away on the high G? Man, he was fucking awesome.
Rick, one of my two "backs to the stack" heros the other being Malcolm. I miss you both so much. Dear World, just listen to this at full volume just once in your life.
I was at this gig, and was rather mortified to see my mug in the crowd in a few shots. Bought a fall out boy shirt 3 hours before, and it was swiftly ripped apart by the end of this gig. Good times, and very grateful I got to see them in this lineup!
That bass player is untouchable. It’s not many chords in each song but he always links them together, doesn’t always stay in the same range, goes an octave higher. He’s very high in the mix and that’s why cos he’s shit hot
Wish I could just play a boring, uninspired 12 bar blues and make loads of money. It's bizzare to me how people pay money to hear this formulaic dog shit.
Alors là!.... Le QUO a rarement sonné aussi bien que sur cette version de Caroline! Ray Parefit était vraiment un rythmicien exceptionnel... Bravo, respect!
Status Quo,a real rock band that I xnow since 1967,when I was only 11 years. Now I still appreciate this fantastic band and I'll never stop with metal-rock,it is a injection that inserts blood in me.
IF anyone in the whole wide world, and USA I suppose, needs to witness a pounding, loud, professional and just plain rock and roll band..? Then just listen to their albums, singalong and what a lot of belting music....IF you can get to see them live, then do not hesitate.. Book the tickets and enjoy the tremendous sound of the QUO... THE BAND that the USA lost or never knew.. GB does it again...
First saw Quo in 1973, they were playing Norwich, found out they were on by chance, my mate and I went down to the hall on spec, it was sold out, got chatting to a guy who came out, turned out he was their engineer, found out we were two RAF lads, he invited us inside we sat with him at his kit and watched the concert for free, love Quo.
Got to watch a Van Halen concert in Long Beach , California from the side when I was US Navy shore patrol and we were there to pick up a drunk sailor, the local police invited us to stay, even the drunk didn’t mind. That was 1978 and I wish it would have been Quo!!
Norwich Theatre (where I saw Deep Purple, and Wishbone Ash), or more likely St Andrews Hall? (Where saw The Stranglers, King Crimson, Curved Air, The Feelgoods, Hawkwind, etc., in the seventies) Terrible acoustics, but conquered by King Crimson with the biggest PA bins I'd ever seen at the time! Many good times!
Bloody hell what an intro by Rick! How did his arm not drop off 😂 Love these guys - what a great band they are live, really tight. Francis and Rick the dynamic duo! ❤️
Rick was the riff master.l saw them loads of times. He loved playing the old classics, hard but Francis does like to prat about. One time l saw them they must of not been getting on,Rick ran the show, chose the songs,no crap between songs, just full on,boogie, head down. Not bloody Margites with keyboards.
Saw Status Quo years ago - think it was Hammersmith Odeon - someone who was a steward got me some freebies - front row of the circle - when they came on I think everyone more or less stood up for the evening - I do remember it felt like the circle floor was bouncing as fans enjoyed the show....still not a fan but boy what a show - hit after hit......this would have been back in very late 70's / early 80's
My first ever CD I heard on my own stereo was '12 gold bars' late 1986. I fell in love with this music. Almost 35 years later I'm proud to say that I have collected ALL their albums! Really! For example: Picturesque, Ma Kelly, Dog of two head, Spare parts, In the army now, Ain't complaining, Perfect remedy, Thirsty work, In search for the fourth chord, Aquostic, Backbone! No need to say that I miss Rick!
The first thought I had when I saw Rick doing this at the wolvo civic on the frantic four reunion was how does that guitar not set on fire and no wonder he got heart trouble the amount of physical effort that must take.
One of the most rockin' tunes EVER written. R.I.P Rick, sadly missed, as is Malcolm Young .......... the world's best rhythm-guitarists in the history of rock.
@@THEBIGMANGY That effing cringy word over n over again describing just about every artist/muso and band. Ive even seen it used to describe The Who,Prince and frigging Steve Vai, ffs Underrated underrated underfriggingrated.
...and pretty much all types of music in general! We're the best...simple as!! Bands/artists, from all over the world, look to the UK (if not base themselves here) because of the international musical (and cultural) reputation of this country. It's just such a massive shame that the uptight, narrow-minded Tory types really don't understand this. They don't see it/understand it/value it! How they can't I'll never know...I really won't. IMO we have THE BEST musical and cultural reputation in the world. Everyone looks to this country, especially in regard of music, but it goes over the Tory's heads. For a group who like to pride themselves on their ability to capitalise on owt they can get their grubby big hands on, they miss this time and time again and have always done! I don't get how they can be so slack, dumb? Yet they continue to pull it off and totally miss out???
