This is the original line up and the best in my opinion. Rick Parfitt the rhythm guitarist at the young age of 14 back in 1962 he played in my band "The Demons" it was his first ever Rock n Roll Band and his father did not like him playing Rock n Roll. As The Demons we only played locally in our town of Woking Surrey in England and were not well known at all. I am 79 years of age now and still have great memories of those times back in the 1960s. I emigrated to Australia in 1970 and have lived here ever since then and I am lucky to have been backstage to meet rick and the band members every time they were playing in Melbourne, sadly Rick passed away on the 24th December 2016 I was in touch with him only a few weeks prior to that, he was working on finishing his solo album...R.I.P my good friend Rick.
Just class, seen them countless times it was my dads favourite band, grew up listening to them. Amazingly this was the only song they ever had get to number 1 in the charts and they went for like 40years
The Quo have never made a bad record. I`ve seen them live many times they come on stage to a rock version of "Nellie the Elephant", (Francis Rossi was interviewed on TV this morning, and I`m a bit shocked to find he`s actually younger than me.)
Like A Zombie or Can't Give You More by Status Quo (both tracks off Rock Till You Drop album out in 1991), these two are just the same raw energy as Down Down.
@@bxkid7 he has been asked to write a book but can tell you my stories lol blimey I miss Rick from Quo, was a lovely man, my fave person was Brian the singer of the Sweet, he was such a lovely man and a right laugh, I miss him rotten. Have been lucky enough to sing with some legends, really am such a lucky girl ⭐
I've seen the Quo every year since 1986, but my fave songs are Paperplane, Down Down, Mystery song, Rain, Break the Rules, Creeping up on you, 4500times, Lonely night..................

I love the Quo. They headlined at Lincoln Castles midsummer magic for 6 years running between 2004 and 2010 i went twice but i live about a mile away from the castle and could hear them every year from my back garden ... Awesome band every songs a banger.
Hiya Kid, I had too listen too Status Quo all the way from Whitehaven to Newcastle, England and back again that's about 180 miles ,that was about 30 years ago and I've never liked them since
Between 1968 and 1990 Status Quo had 22 Top 10 hits in the UK Charts - This was their ONLY #1 Their final Top 40 single of the 57 that made the Top 40 was in 2010 - 42 years after their first! Probably the most underrated British Band of All Time considering most people don't realise just how big they were. and you never hear them talked about amongst the top rock acts even though they outlasted pretty much everyone else.
Great reaction here's a tangent about the quo on my part. Back when I 17 my friends and I invented a game that involved cars! The idea was to be stationary and when the band stopped and Francis riff kicked the riff off in the mid point of the song. At that point you hit the accelerator and had to see what speed you could reach when the band kicked in. All was fine and dandy until I ran out of driving talent and put my mother's vauxhall cavalier end over end into a field!! To this day when I hear this song I'm upside down in a cavalier with the sound of sheep in the background!! Pardon my ramble!
Been a quo fan since the beginning. My first ever LP bought, back in 1972 was "Pile Driver". 1. "Don't Waste My Time" 2. "Oh Baby" 3. "A Year" 4. "Unspoken Words" Side two 5. "Big Fat Mama" 6. "Paper Plane" 7. "All the Reasons" 8. "Roadhouse Blues" (The Doors cover)
They're biggest hit the U.S. was in the 60's with "Pictures of matchstick men" which is very different from their later hits. "Caroline", "Roll over, lay down", "Mystery song", "Rocking all over the world", "What you're proposing" are some of their best.
Not heard this in a long time, brings back good memories, my uncle used to love listening to Status Quo, just feel-good stuff. I am going to put it on my playlist.....it's too old for my '80's' playlist, so I'll have to file it under 'good tunes' lol. 💛
As a kid i knew this lad who was mad for quo an he'd wear all the denim. He used to put his hands on his hips an he'd do this dance with his elbows. I ised to think he was the bomb even tho he was older than me 😂 weird what memories music brings back.
I'm chuffed you liked Status Quo - They were SO successful in the 60's 70's and 80's that BBC Radio one, the main chart music station in the UK, pretty much "banned" playing their records (as I recall at any rate) in a bit to try and update the Radio One sound. They were the subject of friendly jokes - which they took in good spirit - that they only knew three chords - I think they actually knew four. There were SPOOF Status quo singles in the 80's by someone called "ALF ON FORTY FIVE" ... the one that sticks in my head to this day is "BORING SONG" - can't find it on YT - It was just a bit of fun. They opened LIVE AID of course with ROCKIN' ALL OVER THE WORLD.
I prefer more of there blues/psychedelic rock sound. The album Ma Kelly’s Greasy Spoon for me is one of the best ever written, every song on it is class.. you should check it out and especially a song called spinning wheel blues 🙂👍

George Fisher (aka: Corpsegrinder, vocalist from Death Metal band 'Cannibal Corpse') has that as his tattoo on one of his elbows! You should do a reaction video to Cannibal Corpse! Most of the time, people consider Death Metal as just "noise", but in my opinion, I think it's awesome! We all have different opinions, that's partly what makes the world go round, eh, Kid? 😉👍
Hey BXKID7 loved all you're Porridge reactions watched every episode for me it was the best sitcom ever and I'm gonna recommend another Classic British sitcom from the seventies check out " Fawlty towers " starring John Cleese as a Crazy Hotel owner it's one of the funniest sitcom's ever to Grace British TV
Quo up t 1981 were amazing. Try Mystery Song next!! Or Backwater, Paper Plane, 4500 Times all great stuff from their early career. Went tits up and too poppy in the 80s. Actually, try Slow Train!!!
