In this video I take a trip to Raystown to see if I can find new patterns going on the lake after seeing evidence that the pattern I have been on maybe dying. I also explain the importance of change in bass fishing and explain how I try to stay "in-front" of the fish

Thanks for the informative video! I watch all of your videos. Raystown is a difficult lake to figure out. I have only had a boat for a year now so I'm a newbie at best. Your videos help a lot to understand how, when and where. Hopefully you did well in the tournament!

Thanks man that means a lot, I will keep working hard to keep posting videos. I had a lot of bites in the tournament but had some really big fish come off and it really hurt me.

I’m staying near shy beaver boat launch. Have never fished here or been here in my life. Is there any good spots near that launch or should I go up towards the dam

the whole lake is good. I really like the area around shy beaver that is the launch I typically use when fishing there unless I'm in a tournament I have to use James creek

Fun and relaxing video! When you pitch that jig, are you twitching the rod tip throughout the fall upon entry, for a reaction or are you feeling cover (rocks/wood) and hopping it? Hard to say with the video transitions, and I’m sure you switch it up sometimes.

Awesome question. It always changes but in my last couple videos the fish have been quite easy to catch so for me its all about fishing fast and covering water making as many flips as possible. Most the fish have been coming off really steep banks and the fish seem to be eating the bait on the fall so basically as soon as the jig hits the bottom (rock slide, shelf, cover) I'm giving it a hop and letting it fall to the next shelf. usually if I don't get a bite on initial fall or second fall I'm usually reeling in and making another flip. Been more about fishing fast then anything because the fish have not been picky. Seems like that is starting to change tho

What depths are you mainly targeting late July, are you fishing the shelf’s and steep drop offs or the slightly shallower shorelines?
@jodonfishing5609
@jodonfishing5609 Год назад
I usually fish 0-20 feet if the fish go deeper I usually struggle. and it all depends on the fish. it changes often

@@jodonfishing5609 thanks I struggled bad last year just going on vacation and taking the skeeter just couldn’t find them anywhere except 40 feet where they had lockjaw followed on livescope but wouldn’t commit.

Bro you need a net, you are using your rod like a frickin crane

I lose more fish when I start to fumble with the net. usually don't have to many problems swinging them in with a heavy rod and 20 pound line
