Stealth Angel Survival Kit Test : Budget or Bust 

A tactical pen before a basic folding knife in a survival kit like this is just silliness. The range of survival situations where a knife would be the more useful tool is much wider than those where you'd rather have a pen. Plus you can defend yourself with a knife just as well, if not better, than a pen where you can't even put your thumb on the back end. And I'd much rather have a signal mirror or even a fresnel lens in that leatherette case than one of those silly 11 in 1 "survival cards". The only thing that could make this kit worse is if it included one of those ridiculous "survival towels".

I have three of their kits and love them and the items are what I would want in a survival situation. The main light is tough and works fine for me, and the ink pen is nice and I love it because it uses the Parker refills. I am satisfied with everything else in this kit and the only other kit I have is the Gerber kit and this one is better than it.

The carbide tip on the pen will serve as a window punch. Yes, I tested it.

I was given one of these as a gift. Out of box it’s a nice starter kit. I added a Swiss Army knife (does everything that “survival card” does except it does it even better), a keychain sized locking folder, lint from the drier in a ziplock bag for fire starter, a short length of extra paracord on the inside, a spare battery and a paracord handle on the outside. I also added bright orange and neon green tape to the outside in case the kit were to get dropped so it’s easy to find, just some tape to have on hand plus possibly to help get attention if needed. I plan on doing a video on mine some time soon.

Of all the survival kits you've demostraighted, I bet this is one of the last one's you'd carry. But beggars can't be choosy... Thanks for the video Don

There are some handy items in the kit, but I believe any survival kit should be made for your area and circumstances. There should be some kind of small folding knife, and the leaking case was a let down. I carry a lot of the items in that kit already. Thanks for showing it.

Two things: -SOS is actually three long, three short, and three long signals. -You can buy a hard, waterproof case at Walmart for about $8. The tools are actually really good and great for the money.

I would list that as a EDC kit rather than a outdoor survival kit

I carry the s.s. multi tool in my wallet and it has come in handy on more than 1 occasion. I sharpened the blade & the can opener & they both work a lot better.

I got the kit 2 years ago for Christmas, decent, ferro rod handle was glued on and fell of.

I prefer to buy a Drill bit kit....you get a good set of bits and a box for survival items...cost 9$

I've got a bunch of those lights. Put a 14500 battery in it and it'll be NICE and bright.

Just looking at the thumbnail, it looks like crap.

I got a 10 pack of those exact same flashlights from Amazon (came on a slow boat from China) to store around the house and let my kids play with. They do the job in a pinch or power outage, but I wouldn't trust my life to it. This kit does seem like a 'better than nothing' option that you could toss in your mom's station wagon

Just one comment... a compass does not point trough North. It points to magnetic North. You need to check your maps to compensate for this when navigating.

This was my first glovebox kit. I still have a few of these items, mainly as backups.

Make your own with a box for fishing lures. Tools are cheap Chinese but functional absent other options.

I think that they should ditch the smaller flashlight and add a write in the rain paper so that the pen is useful. My opinion.

The compass mine came with did not look like that...it was really cheap...everything else, for the money was ok...better than not having anything

Got it for a gift one year the flashlight shorts out quits working fire steel isn’t bad for what it is an everything else is 23 bucks worth if that’s makes sense

I bought a pack of 5 of those flashlights for 8 bucks.

Has anyone noticed that this kit does Not have a knife included? Most of these types of kit I could a folding knife, why did Stealth Angel include it in theirs?? One can find similar kits on Amazon with better choices of tools than this. I feel for the price they are asking include a knife! That's my only rant on this kit!

eBay has become so sketchy. I've had many of these items for years before these crooks started buying and rebranding them as 'kits'. The items are fairly decent. The boxes are crap.

Perhaps a plastic seal so you know that all is there not a lock just saying

That's more of an EDC stocking stuffer than a survival kit. The pen is also branded as Uzi. It's decent. The flashlight is also an Uzi brand, and it's absolutely inferior to a good Streamlight . Those keychain button lights are all junk. Again, Streamlight makes a superior product. In my experience, every creditcard tool I've tried is useless, you should be carrying a multitool anyway. I've never tried a compass that was close to comparing to a good ol' military issue lensatic. A stainless rape whistle, that there's no way can be heard from half a mile? Enough said, I believe. That ferro rod would have probably worked better if you used it correctly. Keep the striker still, held close to your tinder. It directs the sparks where you want them, instead of randomly throwing sparks with a striker.

Tossed one in the trunk, under $10 why not.

Begs the question: is it better than nothing? At least at the nothing point you know “hey! I have nothing!”’And that’s an honest start. We’re now at the point where urban bozos can spend hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars and be prepared for nothing more than getting that top off the bottle 🤦🏼‍♂️

I just don't see what you're supposed to survive with this, take the pen out and put in a real knife with some fishing line or something at the very least. Its more tactical i guess but if you're in a "tactical" situation you probably won't have time to grab this box for a pen.
