STEALTH technology ha different components. In a previous video we talked about stealth shape, in this video we talk about radar absorbing materials. #STEALTH
@@deven6518 Yes but you have to be constantly inputting energy through this material, a ceramic where the dielectric medium is polarized in one direction as a result
Many thanks for your easily digestible data on stealth & radar absorbing materials! To me, you are 1 of the rare person who provide explanations easy to comprehend & straight to the point. Your data are eye opening & you readily admit what is fact & what may be your conjectures & opinions. Keep it up!
You are not the first to mention it, but details are extremely hard to find. Everyone is explaining the concept but the inner workings are kept secret.
a radar powered a quantum computer, how does one keep it going bsod on you? I mean laboratory quantum computers use heavy shielding and isolation via ceramics/heavy metals/liquid nitrogen.
Fantastic. I get a little hung up on dialogue from your accent. Subtitles would be helpful. but overall this video is the best most informative out there!
Thank you so much. Your videos are very interesting and informative, well explained and interesting to whatch. truely, this subject videos cant be found anywhere else on youtube. Great work.
Well, at hypersonic speed I would be surprised it it didn't happen. It is bonus advantage of hypersonic weapons. I still have perplexities on how the weapons sensor can look outside, in these conditions.
00:40: All dB scales (electrical, audio, and noise) are logarithmic, not linear, in nature. A 50 dB (I am assuming a power ratio, not voltage or current) reduction translates into a reduction of 1/100,000 of the original power. A 60dB ratio translates into a reduction of 1 millionth. A 60 dB ratio is significant, but it does *not* make the target undetectable. In radarspeak, it just reduces the probability of detection. Enough transmitter power, a large enough antenna, and a close enough target, and we can detect it.
Thanks for another great video! Btw it’d be interesting to see an overview/analysis of the stealth features (design/shape, materaials, possible coating) of the Horten/Gotha 229. Have you got enough source material to create such an episode?
Illuminating the implications of physics that i completely missed. D___n i feel so stupid. I hate being so blind to my own blindness. Thanks for slapping me awake !
I wonder if a carbon nano tube structure could dissipate the radar signal or if a paint like musou black could absorb is as well. Amazing channel BTW extremely sad I'm this late to finding your videos.
In timeframe 9:06 about durability of absorbent paint material, in case the paint is still intact and in place then is there any material where it is sprayed / diffused in the air to either cause the paint to (1) peel off if still intact or (2) add / spray / splash reflective paint to the surface area to the flying object so it will be detected by radar? This will render the absorbent material (if still intact) useless. In this case a caution must be payed for the friendly crafts not to be near the contaminated area. How about firing a low cost missile to near the suspected zone and have it e xp lo-de and disperse special paint that will cover all airplanes in the area with such material and render its stealth feature useless? Once the stealth aircraft is painted with reflective material then a second missile is fired and it will then be easy to catch it.
Good question. Apparently the US has carried out highly classified bioweapons research into genetically modified bacteria that can do exactly that. They carry plasmids with genes that make them capable of reducing iron pentacarbonyl/ferrite based RAMs.
Why isnt the missiles coated with radar absorbing materials hence we can have more payload and not compromising the stealth factor Eventually we can carry more payload
The thickness of the RAM coating determines the frequency range it will be most effective at. To be effective at UHF or VHF frequencies, the coating would have to be METERS thick. So lower frequency radars defeat RAM coating stealth.
Only if you posit one kind of coating. For other frequencies than, oh let's say F-117, has to deflect and absorb you might have to switch out a semi-precious gemstone with another. Quartz is mentioned in a china science paper. Along with Ti03 and Fe02 that you can vary the recipe you can deal with a much larger band. Also applying coatings to composite structures allows coatings to be more varied to deal with temperature. Modern coatings may have the luxury to be applied to electrically active material, but I have no first hand knowledge of that, it seems reasonable.
D M It was fighter, not a bomber actually, that reached only the prototype stage until the end of the war, so it never flew combat missions, and its flying wing design was meant to optimize aerodynamic performance in the first place, rather than radar signiture. But it did have some stealth characteristics, no doubt. The Horten brothers even claimed to have used some kind of radar absorbent coating on it made of coal powder later, but this is unconfirmed. Nevertheless the USA captured several pieces together with the whole documentation and several engineers working on the project that they could - and for sure did - base their own stealth designs on, together with Jack Northrop’s early experiments with the flying wing.
@@socotroquito2007 Very interesting ! Already many people are wondering how the active stealth technology of the Rafale is working. It appears very effective, but as always, this kind of technologies are very secrets, and informations horribly difficult to find.
Or fiberglass. Radomes (which *must* be transparent) can be made out of fiberglass or ceramic. Patriot missiles use a ceramic nose cone. HAWK used fiberglass.
The Key here is there is no invisibility cloak, its just less visible to varying degrees. The US and Israeli Doctrine has always been degrade counter and then invade. Or simply Just Tomahawk swarm attack too low to many too effectively counter. Lets see 2 S400's per Tomahawk that's expensive, if you can target effectively. Also you want to keep your powder dry for when it really matters.
Interesting material to listen to, but audio gain is all over the place. If your normal narration volume is level 7, then graphics with music are on 11. Making it annoying and making me constantly adjusting the volume up and down or skipping parts of the video.
