Have you ever had a steamed egg? I'd love to know below! From videos I've seen, many hail from Chinese, Korean, and Japanese cultures (not sure if other cultures do steamed eggs like this too?)

I got a lunchbox like this today, and the manual is almost nonexistent - a couple of auto-translated sentences (-ish) about not dunking the base into water, but basically nothing about cooking with it. So this video was super-helpful and will probably save me from ruining my dinner. ;)

I myself would always cook the eggs and the rice at same time. The egg doesn’t ever really get over steamed. I think it took a good 30-45 mins for the rice. Also never needed butter just put the eggs in and was fine. Also each cup is roughly 1/3 cup.

Never had a fully steamed egg.... but when I fry an egg, I fry the first side til the white part is done and then I put a lid on with some water and steam the top til the yolk is just right.
