Hate Calico Jack, with a passion. But if he wasn't a part of the show, we would never get the single best scene of Stede using a telescope to spy on them.
no matter how many times i watch that scene i continue to roll on the floor hollering XD (and watching CJ eat a cannon ball continues to be sooooo satisfyingggggg)
no one ever talks abt how amazing it is that stede told jack straight up that ed's past is his business like stede you are an absolute icon for that. Also i love jealous stede sm and his petty question of where jack's crew is
I think about how Stede asked Oluwande if Jack was better looking than him. I think about how Stede thought Jack had nice hair (he doesn't), and how Oluwande was quick to reaffirm that Stede had nice hair. Two guys just pining away in their misery together. (But also it gives me so many emotions that Stede thought Ed might have thought Jack was more handsome.)
I love that Ed still makes an effort to include stede in jacks crazy shit, not knowing that he’s jealous. It doesn’t make Ed seem like an asshole, he really is just getting carried away with jacks antics
This video summarizes what it’s like to not like a significant other’s friend. I’ve most definitely been a Stede in a similar situation and I am ok with that
I feel like Ed was trying to be a good friend to CJ, genuinely thought he was joking & didn’t quite get how hurtful that dumb comment was to Stede. At least by the end of the episode Ed saw CJ for exactly what he is. Also Ed probably feels an obligation since CJ saved his life.
Kudos to the actor for playing Calico Jack as the truly obnoxious piece of shit toxic frat-boy-type that we can all recognize the minute he opens his mouth. I loathe the character, but the actor is absolutely knocking it out of the park. Every single word and gesture just makes you despise him more.
@@lnfreeman i don't love them, but the scene where the admiral is taken down by the british is unironically funny and wouldn't happen without their existence
Unpopular opinion but I love calico jack precisely because he's so fucking annoying. Like I would hate him as a person but his comedic timing is so good :--D
He's so incredibly good at manipulating people; it's not surprising to me that he was who Izzy chose to send. It's fascinating to watch, but I'd hate to deal with it in person.
