These digital releases kill me because I always want to buy them but I won't for fear that there will be a physical release a few months down the road. I pride myself on still supporting physical media as long as it is an option.

Well, you're in luck as LRG will have it for pre-order come 2/17/23. That's why I'm here. I don't buy digital, unless it's super cheap as I'll wait a year or so hoping for a physical release.

@@saysoun752 As you should. I purchased a digital copy of Snake eater on 3ds and since Konami is garbage, they removed it altogether. I do not have access to it anymore despite purchasing it.

Same here. It’s getting harder though since so many “physical” releases are just DRM. You put in the cart or disc as proof of ownership, then have to download the game anyway. It sucks

@@orboflightning yeah is it different on Switch ? for PS and Xbox physical copies don’t really mean anything anymore and tbh i stopped caring about physical games since Sony and Microsoft make you download and install the full game either way if it’s a digital or physical copy. i don’t get why people make a big deal out of owning physical when your disc is literally just a Key to download and install the game anyways.

Noisy Pixel always review nice indie games that I am always interested in buying. They really don’t do those mobile/crappy indie so that is a plus.

Excellent game, but it's criminally short. Not worth 15 dollars unfortunately, but it's worth it if you find it on deep discount.

Want to complain about length, but this seems to be straight unadulterated thrill from start to finish. Hope the game does well, though can see it 'settling' as a headliner for premium bundles.

It's so short that by the time the player masters the mechanics, he's already almost finished /has finished the game. It's barren in the vatiety department in that you don't get any other weapons or abilities, the most you get is the shield and the whip being electrified. Too short, even for an arcade game, should have been 8 stages atleast instead of 5.

Just played this yesterday on the switch. It was on sale. Amazing game. Everything's really fast and powerful. Your whip is basically a very strong Castlevania whip attack and looks much cooler. You can attack and Zipline all 8 directions. Literally the only problem was the sudden ending. Not all the switch controls were even utilized. I feel they could have done with 6 more stages with a couple more power ups. This is an amazing short game.

Ya I can see the Capcom part, but to me it looks more like a redone Contra Hardcorps by Konami. This is definitely a bit for me too.

I don't understand why they use that aspect ratio. I know it's supposed to look retro but, I hate having borders when there's no need.

Some games just work better in different aspect ratios. It's not just about aesthetics.

@@AlmalekeLoLthat’s probably it. if it was widescreen, they would have to worry about enemies attacking the player from far away. The 4:3 ratio keeps the game more “centered”

@@Hypno_BPM It's also why something like nuclear throne is 4:3 and a lot of shmups still use 3:4 vertical resolutions. A lot of arcade genres back in the day were designed around these screens and become hard to parse otherwise. Unless you're Darius.
