I recently bought the Amia Air, and I can tell that it has wonderful build quality. I upgraded from one of Steelcase’s old 1970’s chairs, and it seems they’re still making great stuff.
I recently purchased the Amia Air with lumbar support. The build quality is superb. I wish it had a more pronounced lumbar support, but overall I love it!
I got an Amia and was wondering if my chair is actually with a defect. Does the lumbar support makes a noise (kind of popping) when you lean against the chair back?
Just got my Amia, bought after viewing tens of reviews. I am returning it, in my opinion it's not much better than a much cheaper chair. My back and my tailbone hurt only after 3 days of using it. The foam of the seat gets very hard after sitting on it for more than a few hours, and the backrest is a joke. Not worth the $1100 I paid for it. Plus those springs in the backrest are very weird, the foam is too thin an you actually feel those springs and that creates discomfort. Edit: the chair is also extremely high, I'm 5 ft 10 and I can't touch the ground, I put some really tall pillows on the floor to get that 90 degrees angle on my legs.
The Leap v2 has a system that is similar to lumbar depth with the tension control. Both include tilt limiter, which the Amia doesn't haven't. The Amia is a great lower cost alternative to these other Steelcase chairs -GK
Purchased Amia Air. Placed an order for series 2 headrest with authorized seller. Amia Air seems to have same backrest hardware as Series 2. Will receive it in few weeks. Hopefully it will all works out. I miss the headrest from previous chair.
@@a.wosaibi Finally received it today. I can confirm that Series 2 headrest works with Amia Air with 3D Microknit Back . It is a game changer. I finally have a headrest for this premium chair, and now my life is complete.
Yo, @presto413! What a pleasant surprise to see you here. I've tried presto's Amia and 100% agree that it's a very high quality chair that's also very comfortable. I can't wait to get mine.
Some people complain that the lumbar support keeps sliding down so they have to adjust whenever they sit on amia. Do you have this kind of issue as well?
Absolutely not, I am 6’2’’ and just bought an Amia refurbished from btod. Not only does the chair barely reach my shoulder blades but the seat height and seat pan depth are short as well. To top it off, they sent me a chair with cheap broken plastic castors and wiggly arms. Cannot recommend this chair for taller people and definitely not their company for quality products. I’m about to find out about their return policy.
Not sure what am I doing wrong, but my butt hurts and goes numb after 2 minutes in this chair. I have only had it for 2 days, really hoping I'm doing something wrong. Any thoughts?
@@sittkukk8278 I'm so glad I didn't return it. I think my body was adjusting from the old bad posture to the new good one. After that accommodation period, which took 2-3 weeks if I remember correctly, all the discomfort went away and now I can stay on the chair for as long as I need without feeling it. Not that that's healthy 😂. But yeah, I have the chair and used it for long working hours every day and love it.
@@dc5 I have the same problem. My back hurts, my tail bone hurts, my butt hurts, after 3 days of using it. My only problem is that I can't return it after 2 weeks. Are you serious about this? Did you simply get adjusted to it and all the pain and discomfort went away? It's $1100 bucks, I'm from Romania, 1100 bucks is quite an amount in here, I wouldn't wanna throw it down the drain. Thanks :)
if you are looking to buy an office chair instead of a gaming chair and you are a controller player under the height of 5 10 i would recommend not getting this chair. the seat doesnt go low enough for your feet to be flat footed and for your knees to be at the height of the seat. if you lean forward with your elbows on your knees for support then you will feel like youre falling out of the chair or having to balance yourself making you lose focus on the game. currently switching back to my old $50 gaming chair because of this and wish i could return the amia. I did get the BTOD cylinder so maybe with the original could go lower but i doubt it
