I don't understand football, but through the lense of Carl it all makes sense. The writing and acting are *perfect* for a sports holligan. It don't even feel scripted, which is the most impressive thing. Also, the performance captures the loudmouthed bravado of an insecure man who just wants "good" things to happen. He has no clue what that means, but him elaborating on his feelings and grievances is so... realistic. He really feels like that fat, middle-aged neighbor everyone has.

Hey Carl, at least you're not a Raiders fan. You've had two rings in the last decade. Raiders haven't had a winning season in 11 years. And mark my words. We're about on par for our season. We've probably got two MAYBE three more wins in the season before we start stepping on our dicks again.
