If you are too armsy with your swing, steep in transition and downswing, have trouble drawing the ball, can't control direction...and more - this video with @LarryCheungGolf is for you. SUBSCRIBE: / @golfliberty
I was wondering what had happened to Larry, great to see him back because I love his approach to golf and Matt definitely seems to swing better when he follows Larry's ideas
Love how you and Larry work together. Effortless power without getting overly technical. Never understood the appeal of someone like Scott Cowx’s approach. Understand everyone learns differently but LC’s approach so much easier to implement and take to the course. Great to see you back producing content Matt. Hopefully more to come 👍
Love Larry's approach because of all the open-ended questions. Not just "you're doing this wrong, do it this way," it's "what do you feel, what are you thinking about during takeaway, etc
holy what a coincidence! I went to the range yesterday and was finally able to take a video of my swing and see im completely "throwing" the club outside in the downswing. Great timing for this video lol
LC & MB back in the house. I first watch, then I study these videos as there are subtle nuggets of great information that can be applied to anyone. I love that LC does not burden you/anyone with too much info or drills, but he seems to have a long range plan.
I could watch you hit balls all day long. Love getting to watch a fellow lefty. Enjoyed just listening to LC talk you through the adjustment and feel. Fun watch!
Larry Legend. This is gold. I’ve been an in to out swinger forever. Going through a grip change this offseason has caused me to think too much about my hands and I’ve gotten lifty, steep and out to in. My miss used to be an over draw and now it’s a weak slice. Going to try some of LC’s tips this weekend.
So glad to see you back Matty! Watching the changes to your swing earlier this year, and now watching LC work with you…. It realistic impressive how good LC is at identifying and communicating what needs to change! Keep the videos coming!
Awesome video! Ive been a touch steep lately also and getting back to inside out path has been game changing… sometimes a simple reset is all you need. Love seeing you and LC working together… lots of value for us viewers 🙌
This is why LC is one of the best out there. It helps that Matt is a great student and even better player to make the changes in a matter of a few swings.
The boys are back, found you fella’s just before lockdown. Absolutely loved the swing improvements content you boys did together. Helped me massively in my own game. Hope there is more to come from the MB/LC dream team.
love seeing y’all working together. i’m working on a lot of the same stuff with tyler mcghie. he was able to get my back on track quickly as well. amazing what top level instruction can do!
LC has a way of putting things that makes sense and gets you to see where your natural vs coached tendency is. You obviously know a ton and have a good swing. It seems like he cuts through “golf swing” rigid brain and gets you to “your comfortable swing” place easily. Seems to get you in a good spot to be an athlete and uses short tips to narrow your focus. I really like LC’s interpersonal style and manner of introducing tweaks. Good stuff.
Yep, launch monitors are crucial to help you acknowledge that you're working on the right things and overcome doubts. I love developing feels from the numbers. Nice work, guys.
Great info this is exactly what I need and what I am struggling with. Your prospective is great based on the information I believe I need to make the proper adjustments.
Take away is like the alignment on a car - if it's bad there are many adjustments that need to be made and you sacrifice efficiency. For a beginner, you need to know how to do all 3 phases, but once you do, a great take away will set you up for success!
GCQuad such a blessing and a curse. You can easily diagnose that you are steep / coming from outside which isn't your intention. Now you could look at it and say wow the results are great, but I'm like 5 degrees inside which is high. Golf is hard.
Good to see you back with Larry. Wasn't a massive fan of the other coach you and Ian were working with. Do you think some of those changes caused the issues you now have or have you not been with a coach for a while? Just curious.
I’ve been lucky to work with tons of talented instructors, but LC and I have worked together for 7 years now and he’s always been very effective at helping me play better
Great video. I get steep on my downswing and I've been videoing it and it appears that my trail elbow goes out in a transition. I think I had to feel that it works inward a little and more or less stay in front of my body
Wow. This is my exact go-to swing thought when things go sideways for me! It solves so many issues. Feeling like you are 'heaving" the arms/hands up and back without independent arm takeaway is a huge swing-changer. I like to think I have "noodle" arms on my backswing and it actually increases clubbed speed even though feeling weaker!
More a question for LC, but can you expand on why you guys are chasing a higher launch angle? Trackman has PGA average for a 6i at 14ish degrees. It also looks like you are barely delofting at impact (new swing had a few 24-26 degrees of loft, assuming your 6i is around 28 static). Wouldn't that be consistent with a flippy release? I'd love to see a face on view of these swings.
So would you summarize the tip by saying imagine the swing moving as a whole unit and to let it get a little flatter if that’s what your body naturally wants?
