For decades of air bags (SIR) two wires in a "Yellow" covering tells what that harness is. They still do except with a position sensor on the seat tack, to close and it is a "Lower Power" deployment of the air bag. This true for passengers side as no on in the seat, why deploy the air bag. Waist, but more, about 40 pounds above or below this threshold, it could be grocery items or a baby strapped in. So also two stage. Back to the steering wheel. With the rotation of the wheel left and right, they use a clock spring that coils tighter to looser, but only so far. If the steering is disconnected, attach a bungee cord from the brake pedal to steering wheel while straight. All the other buttons would take a lot of wires but they don't. One wire thru clock spring "In"'and one "Out". The changes come from a series of voltage drops thru a simple resistor. Each switch is wired in series with a known resistor. Each are different and when connected by pushing a switch, a voltage drop happens. To keep this signal stable, from the (BCM) body control module contains a solid state voltage regulator. If 5Vdc, any button would pass thru a resistor and drop a known amount each time, so using Ohms law, the return signal is analyzed and an action occurs. Do the source back and forward button also work as "next" and "previous" if you select a source like iPod, Bluetooth, or for example if you connect to Apple Car Play and you're listening to your iTunes app? Just wondering if it's possible to skip or replay a song using just the steering wheel oh a Chevy.

Thank you. I got stuck with one of these as a rental while my car is getting the back end fixed after being rear-ended. (Not happy with that since now my car is worth less if I try to resale it and it's paid off:( I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to change the radio, turn it off, or change the volume on the drive home. Drove me nuts! I was too lazy to get the book out and read it. Now to get my Sirius to work. My town has some of the worst radio stations on the planet I think.
Tamera - I'm glad I could be of help. I could not believe how difficult this was during my first drive, hence the reason I made the video. It also sounds like you have small town problem concerning the radio stations. You can stream music from RU-vid thru your auto bluethooth as well.
