I had an explosion of goosebumps and tingles the whole time! The TENSION in his body was absolutely mesmerizing, and she is magnificent. The passion and energy is just gorgeous. Spectacular performance!

This choreography is so in tune to the music and intricate and nuanced. I love the equal attention to the subtler little movements as well as the larger more dramatic movements, there was a lot of depth and content. Lots of Paso choreography and performances concentrate on the large movements and overact the drama without regard to the in between but this doesn’t. I also like the woman’s serious but softer more fluid approach versus the sometimes very angular and harsh interpretations of others that can verge on caricature. This performance really showcases the primal and ritualistic aspects of this dance versus showing off the individual dancer.
Tara Wong. Could not agree more with your assessment, well put. This is the difference between a highly trained and skilled competition dancer and true dance artists and show performers. Steph and dasha have always tried to remain authentic and faithful to the character and origins of each dance and they haven't bought into the overly dynamic, all about speed and athleticism style of recent times. I love dancers who not only show you something but can leave you feeling deeply moved and thoroughly entertained.

Daria is a BRILLIANT dancer. And a good match to He-man Stefano. The golden jacket used by Stefano is excellant, lady's dress beautiful.

Oh, my God. A bullfighter dancing? That's ridiculous. A bullfighter is a bullfighter. That's what he does: fight a bull. He doesn't dance pasodoble. Why not an astronaut dancing or a policeman dancing?
Em Hu. I know it wasn't to your expectation but to call their tango/paso garbage is I think harsh. There's an old saying that says have no expectations and you'll suffer no disappointment. The problem here isn't the contemporary tango/paso it was you own expectations that let you down. I personally respect dancers that go out on a limb and attempt to do something a little out of the ordinally. It shows courage. That's one of the Issues I have with R&Y. They are superb dancers but their show choreography for me often lacks imagination and deep artistic creativity.
