At some point in time, someone used this system with the intention to be able to instantly deliver messages to other people. It didn't work. "Look".. he said.. "maybe I didn't say every single little tiny syllable, no. But basically I said the Words, yeah". And voila, some hundred years later his evocation brought us Email, the Internet and all the fancy things like smartphones. All hail to that unknown adept.

No Foolish Fish without Dr. Stephen Skinner? 😮Well, just for this, and before having read anything of him yet, he is now held high in my esteem! 😉This being said, I'll nevertheless try to read some of his work soon.😊

I just got this book. Also I found it interesting that when I ordered a book about magickal communication on Amazon there was so many problems with the delivery of it. it was reported missing in the mail twice but then got there anyway.

Save your money people. Includes plates and diagrams in black and white, states they should be in colour and to see this you need to buy the limited edition leather. Thereby making this another worthless hardback by skinner. He does this with all his books except a few early ones. So a lot end up buying two books to get what they needed

You could always make artistic recreations, that's what I did with Ordines Descendens attributed to John Dee to save 300$

Can't really go wrong with a Skinner book, unless it's Magick IV, that one was the only disappointing one I've acquired so far.

Thanks for publishing ypur review Denis, I wonder if you could clarify something for me. I had assumed when this was advertised that the 'fourth' book would be Trithemius' 'Clavis Generalis' which explains his method and which printed in some of the early seventeenth century Latin editions of Steganographia. Would I be right in thinking that Skinner and Clark have omitted this and have instead included something else from a late eighteenth century French manuscript?

I can't deduce from reading the book whether it is the Clavis Generalis you mention, it doesn't seem to be called that (or a direct translation thereof), but rather a number of operations for calling spirits in diverse ways, including the first called "To invoke all entities" which has a great deal to do with numbers.

Thank you, much appreciated. I can perhaps understand the omission of either the long or short versions of the key if Skinner and Clark want to downplay the cryptographic purpose of the text. Nevertheless, the decision to market BPH 277, however interesting the content might be in its own right, as a 'fourth book' of Steganographia is something I find bizarre. I should probab;y know better by now than to look for sense or reason in some of Skinner's more questionable decisions!

Addendum: Dan Harms published a review on his Medium page yesterday which confirms that BPH 277, and not the earlier Latin editions of Steganographia, was the basis for the entire text. 'I don't know about you', Harms writes, 'but what I’m hoping for from a book by Trithemius is an accurate text of what Trithemius himself wrote.' This isn't it. Instead this seems to be an eighteenth century writer's edited version of Trithemius which incorporates material from other sources without adequate demarcation of which is which. I think it has the potential to mislead both purchasers and readers into believing this is the Steganographia of Trithemius. It's only true in part but Skinner and Clark have failed to make this clear. Caveat emptor.

Guys, I need help , I need a magick to dislove a person , I want to lose every feelings I have on that person , any method?

Erase everything related to that person from everywhere you can think of, phone, email, social media, ensure you have no way to find out what their name even was once the magic works, and then ask Saturn to drain all emotions related to that person, and Mnemosyne [Mne-MO-sih-nee] the Goddess of memory to remove your memory of that person, burn incense to please them, offer gifts of water (leave it out for them over night, then poor out preferably into the ground), visualise writing their name on a piece of parchement and visualise the parchement burning and disappearing, notice the ashes are grey and lifeless as they dissipate into nothingness. If you already have a patron deity of any sort, ask that deity to make the ritual binding and final with no waty back. if you do not, appeal to the most powerful being you can think of who has your best interest at heart. I hope this helps.

It feel terrible to say but after your review and what I otherwise know about the book, I dont think I will have any use of it ;-) But historically, and because I would really want all the "classics", I would want it in my library.... But lack of money forces me to choose wisely what to buy. One thing I don´t appreciate with Skinner´s books, is their color...yellow!? Anyway, thank you for the review!
