No this is not a s3x toy ^____^. It's a non- destructive way to extend the straphook out to the 12th fret of the Steinberger XT2 or XT25. This makes it much more comfortable to wear and to play without the need to damage this beautiful bass by screwing some bracket into it. This extender is made from a strip of Aluminium 4 centimeters wide and 3 millimeters thick. It just hooks onto the front strap attachment and has an L-shaped extention that rest against the upper part of the front of the body to prevent the extender from rotating upwards. 2.5mm rubber glued to the inside prevents scratching and fills up the space between the aluminium hook and the body of the bass to prevent lateral movement. It's rock solid, I guarantee it :)
I used (camouflage) duct tape to tape off any sharp edges of the aluminium so there's no chance of accidentally scratching the lacquer of the bass. I also sanded down all the edges with very fine grain sandpaper.
Here's a link to an album of more detailed pictures on Flickr: www.flickr.com/photos/ededitz...
I DO NOT HAVE THESE FOR SALE!! If you want one you will have to make your own. You can see from the pictures on Flickr it really is not that difficult to make one if you are a bit handy with the tools.

Hello! Im trying to make this extender on my hohner b2a, it's really uncomfortable for me! It's funny, because lap stand work's great with leg, but with strap they overthinking with 3 strap dots, and none of it is usable 😂. I finished the cardboard version, hope aluminium one is gonna work together, thank you for your work and mind to come up with this!

Well the one in the video is of course made to measure for myself but you don't have to follow the shape design I used. You can for instance go straight up for a bit and then left to the 12th fret. You need to make a cardboard template that works for you, you don't have to copy my design exactly.

Very kinky! Isn't it bizarre that we have to make these things - it's like Gibson don't want to make money with small things ;-)

Exactly, they should have provided something like this.

@@EdEditz Ned did - there again we didn't buy ourselves an L2 here :-). I strung mine E to C and with some FX it can get quite Royal Blood. It also sounds good in the 2nd octave so like a decent guitar. As our band commented "not bad for a plank of wood"

@@stephenhookings1985 I think it's a great instrument. I'm very happy with the bass. Like you said Ned provided a pivot plate but we didn't buy an L2. As an instrument I love it though. I love the sound of it and how well it plays and how good it looks of course. Certainly not bad for a plank of wood :D 😊👌👍
