I bought the 42mm back in January and it fits perfectly on my 8” wrist, I’m sorry I didn’t buy this watch years ago, for me it’s also a keeper.

I detect one fault in the video... no shots of the watch on a NATO - where it kinda belongs.. :) I love Steinhart's bracelets - both the oyster and the jubilee are excellent. But whenever I put my 42 OVM back on its bracelet, I instantly wish I had left it on the NATO. Good choice re the Pepsi Vintage GMT 39 - I bought that one a month ago on a jubilee and it is an absolute stunner. Can't say enough good things about that watch on that bracelet.

@@thegreatgambino I am wearing my 42mm OVM today on a black nato with cream stripes that matches the indices & hands, I've never seen a more perfect combo. Mine was a bargain too as it came with no bracelet which I would never have used anyway. I posted it on IG earlier where I'm dragonboykelly if you want to see my idea of a #perfectnato.

I bought one about a year ago. Great looking watch.. Runs about a minute fast per day until it finally stops altogether after about 4 days...Didn't want to send it back to China for adjustment so it just sits in the white box on my desk and I frown at it every once in a while.

What is the original color of the nylon strap of the Rolex Mil-Sub 5517 of the British Army ? Black, grey or green?

That's a great question. I always thought it was a charcoal gray or black. It's hard to tell because so many people online have replaced the original strap. Hopefully somebody else knows and can chime in.🤞🏻

As far as I know, the 5517 was issued with a Phoenix G10 strap. Those were only available in "admiralty grey". You can still get Phoenix straps from "Cabot Watch Company" I would also recommend having a look at their own nato straps. Better build quality, than the Phoenix and also very comfy.

Hi Tony and thank you. The 42mm version has a 22mm lug width, but this 39mm case version has the 20mm lug width.

I'm an idiot. I could not initially wind the watch myself due to a stroke. My aids were not bringing the crown to the proper place but were winding the watch in the "ghost date" position, thereby just rolling the date wheel over and over. Not being fully wound. the watch would just stop after a few days.The hack feature is not within my aid's capabilities but when the time changes on my cable box, the minute hand on the watch is in the exact center of the marker. Perfectly correct after 3 weeks. Sorry to have maligned this watch wrongly. I see where an original 5517 sold at Bonhams in England for about 268K. I do wish that Steinart would have offered this model in the correct 40mm. Oh well.

@@Mark-sd7fc When you operate the Date wheel on a Watch that doesn't have a Date-Window. That's called a "ghost position". You are changing the date, you just can't see it. A lot of watches have that because its cheaper to buy movements in bulk and use them straight away. Otherwise the watch manufacturer would need to remove the date wheel from each and every single movement. Hope that answers your question!

@@quality_times yes thanks, when I modded an invicta and replaced the face with one that didn’t have a date window (or the word invicta on it lol) I created a ghost date position , have a great holiday and stay safe my friend . I subscribed 😉

I bought one about a year ago..Beautiful watch..Stayed wound on my wrist for about 3 days and then stopped..During those three days, it loses about 4 minutes a day before stopping..Supposed to have a decent power reserve. I've hesitated about sending it back to China for servicing. but I guess an ETA 28/24 can be adjusted here..A real disappointment. A friend has a Steinhart that works perfectly.
