Very nice documentary on a wonderful woman. I became aware of her when she co-starred in the 2 Dean Martin movies. I've been a huge fan of Dean Martin's all my life. Stella was perfect alongside of him in those movies. She's a beautiful woman and a very fine actress. I'm very sad to hear about her health situation now. My Mother passed away from Alzheimer's disease. Dementia and Alzheimer's are terrible diseases that I wish they'd find a cure for.
So sad ● for Stella ● for your mum ● & my grandparents (who *both* died from the final symptoms. I'm truly sorry about your mum.💔 So much love & stacks of hugs to you & yours :)
Mr Skinner, not only are you a "Professional" film maker in every sense of the word, but you give every single person you profile, the dignity and respect we all want coming into this life and leaving this life! The way you honor your fellow human beings in life and in death is greatly appreciated. God Bless You.
I grew up in the 50s and 60s and love hearing about the people on my TV screen and movies. I appreciate how you are not letting them be lost to the world. Many wonderful people. Ty
Beautifully done Jerry. I was born in 56 and I had a crush on Stella back when I didn’t even know what a crush was. As I’d gotten older I worked out what I liked about her. She is such a natural beauty. Hollywood never tried to put their influence on her. She remained the person she was throughout her career. It is so sad that she now can’t remember her career and what she had achieved as a person.
@@ScottyColoradoKid ❤️ stella stevens in Nutty Professor unhuman pretty& ❤️ stella stevens in girl , girls , girls movies with elvis presley: looks csuper goregous : thought she was related to , connle stevens ; laugh laughb
Thank You sir. She was always a favorite of mine....and Cable Hogue was priceless. I know of Alzheimer's; my father had it. He had been a brilliant scientist. Watching that great mind fade away was heartbreaking. I took care of him the last 2 years of his life. A painful task but one I was honored to do.
@GREY PILGRIM, GOD BLESS YOU FOR TAKING CARE OF YOUR DAD!!! IT IS AN HONOUR TO TAKE CARE OF OUR PARENTS WHEN THEY CAN NO LONGER TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES!!! I AM BLESSED TO DO SO!!! 🙇🏾♀️🙇🏾♀️🙇🏾♀️💝💝💝🕊🕊🕊

@@UncommonWoman1611 I was trying to convey to Mr. Skinner what I'm quite sure many in this community feel about him. Many thanks for reaching out and re-enforcing what I thought was the common denominator we all share in here...Mr. Skinner Delivers The Goods! Cheers From Ohio and Enjoy up coming Moan-Day😂
What a wonderful tribute to this real life Barbie Doll. She was mesmerizing in The Ballad Of Cable Hogue, one of my favorite movies, as well. Very moving video, Jerry. Thank you!
Butterfly mornings... and wildflower....afternoons.. Thank you so much Jerry- The Ballad of Cable Hoage... one of my favorites too! everyone must see that movie.. Excellent job.. and the ending Jerry.. was like her.. kind..sweet and memorable.
So bitter sweet. Stella Stevens was a beautiful woman with so much talent. My Daddy had Alzheimer's for over 20 years. He would remember I was the oldest of his 5 daughters and my name. I would stay in the care home with him after a surgery or when he was ill. I miss both of our parents dearly. I pray Stella's son Andrew is well. Thus far none of us have any signs of this evil disease. I love you in Christ. Hugs from northern California.
It’s always a pleasant surprise when you show up with a new film star to share with us! Always educational and on classic artists!! My favorite narrations and gorgeous photos come from you Mr Jerry Skinner!! Thank you!!
I remember seeing her in "The Nutty Professor "..although I was a teenager I thought she was the most beautiful woman of all time! Lol..She was never taken seriously as an actress..she deserved better. ...She was beautiful 😍
@MICHAEL RATLIFF, I THINK IT COULD HAVE BEEN THE PLAYBOY STUFF, NO ONE IS TAKEN SERIOUS AFTER THAT!!! PROBABLY CALLED HER A DUMB BLONDE, I'M GLAD SHE FINALLY TURNED THEM DOWN!!! BUT SHE WAS SMART AND GORGEOUS!!!
Once again Jerry, you bring to light someone I never knew, and by the end, I miss them! THAT'S a good story! And you're a master storyteller... A 'yarn smith!'
Jerry, that was a lovely tribute to a beautiful fellow Mississippian. I had no idea she was from the South. Now I'm going to have to watch that Jason Robards film they made together. that you claim is your favorite! Thanks for another great docu!
Stella Steven's films I do remember her, she was beautiful, adorable and had such an innocence about her.. Dementia is horrible to not remember at times your own children and life.. My aunt worked at the Time Towers for over 27 years. We were supposed to go on the morning of the 911 incident for breakfast. But her knees were bothering her so we never went. Her shift started at 4pm.. Thank God.. She was angry about the 911 incident, she lost friends, colleagues and businessmen and women she met working all those years.. When she got Dementia, it affected her that her anger of the incident had disappeared, which was great and a lot calmer. But then started forgetting things and family.. She passed away two years ago.. I at least spoke to her and cleared the air about a dispute we had, when I lived with her.. Margie Ramirez.. Rest in peace. 😪
I didn’t know this about Stella Stevens. And I never knew she grew up in Memphis but mention of all the Memphis schools and churches made me pay closer attention. Thanks for all the memories from the Bluff City.
Who else hits the thumbs-up button before they watch the video? It's always a great day when Jerry shows up in my message feed! And now for the film... 😊
What a lovely woman. Many blessing to her family during this difficult time of dementia. Heartbreaking, but what an amazing career she carved out in acting, modeling and as a Playmate, as well as being a great mother for putting the spotlight on her son to become successful.
Thanks very much Jerry...l remember her very very well....She is a very caring beautiful lady in my book.....l also like Jason Nelson Robards Jr. to......Your friend Steve...!
Thank you for the lovely biography of Stella. I did not know she did westerns but happy she won an award. Her son Andrew i remember in t.v. and movies. I loved her in the Poseidon adventure and what a dtamatic death. So sorry she lost her memories. Terrible diseases robbing her so much. All the best Stella from a fan! Just may watch some of her older movies.
Early 1970's my Father was manager of a tobacco shop in Hollywood not far from Universal Studio's. I worked part time in the shop and scores of stars came into the shop. One day, Stella Stevens came in. She told how she was doing a couple episodes of a TV series called Heck Ramacy, set in the times of the old west. Her part was a reporter, and a member of the women's suffrage movement who smoked cigars. She was looking for a mild cigar, the right size to fit the part. My Father helped her and she bought a box. A few weeks later I saw the show and sure enough, a number of times over the next few episodes she puffed a cigar bought at dads shop. A couple weeks later she came back to the shop looking to buy another box of the same cigars. She giggled when paying for them and said I can't believe it but I really like these cigars.
In 1966, the Nutty Professor would be on our local tv station before the THANKSGIVING day parade here in Detroit....I was mesmerized with her when I was 6 years old ! What a woman.
When I saw her in The Nutty Professor my hormones were kicking in and I was wild about her. Her beauty when young was breath taking, and she is from my original home state!!! THanks MR. Skinner for this tribute to Ms. Stella
I had forgotten about her. I had no idea where she was. And I had no idea her condition. Very moving. Saddened by my discovery, but I remember all the movies she was in that I saw through. And her Playboy layout was this 14 year old's fantasy. Thanks again Jerry.
Jerry , I don't know hoy you come up with all this information,, but THANK you.. Did stella's husband also work for Crown Electric ? As you know that's whete ELVIS worked. Thank you Frank from montana...... PS great video, Jerry...
Very warm greetings and a huge thanks from Northern Michigan. Every time I see one of your videos come up I Not only watch that one I watch a few other ones also. I even rewatch some of them several times if they''re about a actor or other type of celebrity that I really do like and enjoy their work very much. Someone like Cary Grant, or Natalie Wood, and many others. Sometimes i love the early stories about some of my favorite celebrities and stars, both present and past.
Mr. Skinner, that was a Wonderful Tribute, & Total telling of an Exceptional Ladies Entire Life. I very much recall about everything of Miss Stevens career, both Film, Stage, & the occasional TV appearances, Cuz I didn't watch Santa Barbara. I was really Taken & became much more Respectful, & informed of Her Turmoil, & Personal troubles. When You told of Her Legal struggles for Her Son, Andrew Stevens. Thank You again Jerry Skinner, Your Duc's are always very Impressive. That last Photo of Her in The Nutty Professor is I think the Most Angelic Picture 🖼️🖼️ ever taken of Her. She also had a "KILLER BODY" throughout Her Career. May God Bless Her. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Another wonderful production by Jerry Skinner. No matter what some have said about Jerry Lewis, there's no question he was a genius. Nutty Professor is still on my top 100 films list. Great script and casting.....especially Stella Stevens.
Met her in the mid ‘60’s , as I was her paperboy for a summer . Always a happy disposition , and a good tipper . She used to call me ‘ Handsome ‘ , and with my jug ears , smile missing a few teeth , and crew cut , it made my day when I would bump into her . What a nice gal .
What a lovely living tribute! Though she was only a passing face on TV reruns by the time I came around, I literally got goosebumps when you revealed the meaning behind this clip's title. 🥰
