Stellaris | Fanatic Pacifist + Ignoring Crisis Challenge - MAX Difficulty & Crisis Strength 

Yes, I did accidentally put the outro in at the 37 minute mark. This is because I recorded this over 3 days and edited each days worth of recording at the end of the day.. and apparently that day I just autopiloted and added the outro to that section.. yup. Keeping it in there, for fun now! Inwards perfection, with the rule of ignoring all other empires & the end game crisis! Time to build up some serious fleetpower! More regular uploads should be back very soon! Been an insane few weeks with all sorts of stuff going on in the background, with these videos being easier to record between everything! Everyone talking about different endgame ideas, no one mentions the Crisis Manager mod series and how you can have ALL THE CRISES SIMULTANEOUSLY. AND you can get AI End of The Cycle for even MORE fun.

Hey Lathrix, you should do the fanatic purifier challenge: max AI difficulty, every empire including yours is a fanatical purifier. It would be an action packed playthrough with lots of wars.

I just want to say I really love these Stellaris videos, but they're very clearly the hardest ones for you to make. They condense a looong Stellaris campaign into a single long video, which is super nice. I find them to be the best way of watching Stellaris on RU-vid. Thanks for all the effort you put in, Lath.

Have you ever considered coming back to this game and role-playing as an awakened empire? I'm kinda curious on how it would play out to suddenly jump into the galactic stage after ignoring it for the entire game.

That "patrolling" of the crisis ships reminds me a lot of me experience with automatic exploration. Often my science ships will just decide to randomly go away from the 10+ surveyable systems they're at, just to spend 2 years going through my entire empire to survey 1 random system, and then they'll go all the way back, repeat ad infinitum...

So we're not going to imagine how brokenly powerful this empire could have been with Gigastructural Engineering.

The immature dragons from that specific L-Gate outcome can be tamed. Not that important in the grand scheme of things, but it's free firepower so, why not? :) PS: they grow up too.

Can you do a playthrough with the feudal ethic for the imperial government? I really like the idea of an empire conquering others and then saying "We're in charge so you do what we ask... but other then that you can do whatever you want"

This is beyond turtling. This is taking the turtle, locking it in a vault and laying a minefield in front of it with signs everywhere that say "F**c Off!". I love it. Also, once you research the Psi Jump Drives and no AI empire has finished their machine ascension, the probability of the crisis being the Unbidden skyrockets. In fact, I maybe had a couple of games where the crisis wasn't the Unbidden once Psi Jump Drives were researched. So if you're going psionics as a player more often than not you're going to face the Unbidden.

I'm not sure how much of a challenge it would be, but a theme I've been thinking about is: Everyone knows the best part of mass effect was wrex and the krogans, so why dont we bring them here. Turtle alien portrait, post apocalyptic civic, militarist in some way(probably fanatic) and most importantly: no shields, no energy weapons, because a Krogan ship is nothing but metal covered in metal, shooting more metal.

Amazing video, loved it! How do you micro manage so many planets? (in a sense that your economy doesn't die completely? Also do you use your habitats purely for refineries of rare resources and having no single refineries on your planets?

Here is a challenge I just came up with after reading some other comments, feel free to refine it: Tick-Tock Robot Fanatic Purifier Synth The rules alter depending on whether it's an even year or odd year. Even Year: - No fighting, period. All ships on passive, no starting wars, etc. If combat is active when the year rolls over, retreat. - Every shipyard that can be building something must be building. Same for planets. Odd Year: - No building, period. All active projects ended, no new ones started. - If you can be at war, you are at war. Prefer attacking above all else.

Ancient Cache of Technologies: a really exciting mod to spice up the endgame. Instead of constant repeatables, you dive into the amazing world of "dark matter technologies" that can rival (or even surpass) fallen empire tech. It includes buildings on planets, new resources to manage, and exciting upgrades to both ground troops and naval superiority. There are also unique tech options depending on your empire civics. There are events to go with the mod, and it really does change the end-game. I would highly recommend it!

i dont know why but your videos help me sleep i like them very much but sometimes when you make a full playthroug i kind of find your voice calming and in the end i sometimes fall asleep in my chair watching your videos like this one after 30 min i was gone for 3 hours it could be my constant lack of sleep but i find it very hard to fall asleep in a chair (sorry for bad grammer if there is English is not my native laguage)

A really synergised inward perfection build would be Spiritualist, Pacifist, Xenophobe, Efficient Bureaucracy, Rapid Breeders and Traditional (and whichever negative traits). Gets you 60 starting admin cap, +40% growth speed and +40% unity generation.

Maybe this video is already out there, but I'd love to see you try this kind of run again now that we have an entire Tradition Tree dedicated to defense, better AI, and a bunch of other really cool stuff that could make this interesting

well, if you are looking at mods, this collection is the first to look at imho: Cinematic Space Battles Mod+Submods adding races, planettypes, etc. is nice and all, but this collection makes the most important impact for me. (longer and massively better looking battles that you dont have to slow down time to actually watch, in fact, in the early-mid game balanced battles can last long enough for reinforcements to arrive and for you to actually speed up time.) battles raging in the same timeframe as the rest of the game realy smoothes out the flow of the game, i freakin love it! ;)

I actually did something similar once (Inward Perfectionist Materialists), but I also used the Infinity Stones mod and had all six of them by the time the crises (I enabled all three) rolled around. Eventually I was the only non-crisis empire left.

Good fun that. Did the same playthrough once, even got the same crisis. I grew much bigger than you though, because in the beginning I managed to goad a couple of empires to attack me by having a really small fleet and angering them. Once they did, I built up the fleet and crushed them. I didn't bother finishing the game because it all got so slow in the late game.

You should do a Full Posadist Utopian Abundance wide research playthrought. Basically an empire centred around colonizing as fast as possible to gain as much research as possible from idle pops. The specie traits will need to be adaptive and rapid breeders + anything else, the ethics fanatic materialistic and the civic Post Apocalyptic.

Isolationists with insane defense, tech and all the megastructures available? That’s exactly my playstyle ;)

Watching this makes me see how terrible I am at this... I just started playing stellaris last week. Anyone have any tips/guides for me to watch to understand more? This play-through had more situation log events in like 40 years than I do in like 200. Also, my strategy for science seems terrible...

Reminds me of a game I had in the early days of Stellaris (1.3 or there about) where a monster of a defensive coalition had me boxed in, couldn't go either way around the ring galaxy with my swarm without the other side jumping past my defensive stations to ravage my empire. Then the Prethoryn turned up and started wrecking shit, conquering empires and infesting planets. They soon turned up on my southern border, but their construction ships could not break through a border designed to hold my neighbors armadas. Better still their infestations was so large that I could afford to slaughter each defending fleet as it came in allowing me to slowly chip away at them and reclaim the planets for the glory of the swarm. This resulted in my empire following the scourge round the galaxy chewing up their empire like the worlds worst parasite, fun times!

The mega structures mod is fun. Tons of new fun things to build. Some fun examples off the top of my head. Planet battle craft, put engines and tons of weapons on a planet and go ham. A disco ball moon. A blackhole bomb. Or a black hole ringworld. Four ring world's in the same star system for when you like putting rings on rings. Or how about a system that uses the solar capacity of a star to fire a laser through a wormhole and at a planet of your choice. Those are the ones I can remember.

When you do another run, I'd like to make a request! WIth your next empire, use Ringworlds not as research or production- but war machines. Fortresses that the enemy die on. You could say... Ringfortresses.

@Lathland Great video, by the way i noticed you play Grand Admiral is this vanilla GA or starnet GA? the reason I ask is that it seems AI is very passive. I tried similar build on starnet Admiral & got absolutely rekt by about 2250 when x2 Ai declared on me at same time.. I tried pacifist/xenophobe/materialist with nihilistic acquisition (the goal was to get a faster start by developing as normal pacifist +also stealing pops from AI)

Titans are generally worth it just for the auras. Something like shield dampener against the unbidden is massive really.

Had an idea for a United Nations of Earth run -most ai empires have advance start, since humans are usually a young species in sci fi -max hyperlanes to make it almost like star trek warp travel -only liberation wars in order to make more friends -strong crisis early on -ideally as much of the galaxy in your federation as possible -force the commonwealth of man to spawn probably not interesting enough for a video i'm guessing

an idea for a challange you will probably loose fast: a no expansion challange. you are not allowed to build any thing outside your starting system. no planets, no stations, nothing. if you get stuff from events, trading, or bribing opponents, that fine. getting stuff through war, thats fine. BUT! you are not allowed upgrade them or build anything on them. you play with what you get and thats it. building ships in conquered stations is also not allowed. if you get a relic, event or ability to instant spawn something, that is allowed, just no building. the details of the race are all up to you. this is already hard enough with your usual starting settings. i would consider this challenge a success if you survive till the endgame crisis spwns. try to stay free, to not become anothers servants for protection if you can.
