This video is i was skeptical to release in fear that it would come off as bragging. but i like watching huge fleet battles. This is not to brag but i thought people who like stellaris would enjoy it.

You know... I just realized... look at the time in the upper right. This WHOLE BATTLE happened over four months! Can you imagine being a ship hand on one of these ships "slowly" cruising into knife fight range with the enemy? Just day in and day out, working at your station, probably doing something utterly boring like monitoring power read outs and all the while knowing you're in a fight for your life? That any moment the ship you are on could be one of the unlucky ones being hit by concentrated fire power? And even then death doesn't come quickly, your ship will probably be ground down over several days if not hours and all you can do is just work at your station while the ship is slowly blown apart around you.
@ArxStrategy
@ArxStrategy 4 года назад
I do think about that and other factor to consider is distance, you are never hit by something you see especially in case of peridition beam, you feel safe that you are in one of the largest vessels in the galaxy, surely there will be enough time to get to the escape pods but then this A-hole from across the system outside of the range of any weapon fires and everything goes white, the largest ship is blown into dust. The firing range is way beyond of what you can see you only see a bright flash and bam its over.

I once had a land battle with slave rebels that managed to somehow get so much ppl there were about 30k of power... This war was 10 years long and I had to use all of my land armies and even create more while battle was going. On the other hand I used a very small "Jail" planet so they couldn't use much of their full reserves at time while I used my best armies so even their summary power was higher than mine, I managed to win with fewer reserves 15k summary including defensive garrisons with about 3k power. This was also a war between 2395-2405 so decade past when this war was going on.

I remember the insanity I faced fighting the unbidden my first time, which was also my last playthrough in Stellaris like a year or so ago. The entire galaxy was already fighting a War in Heaven. Enter the Unbidden. Alliances break apart, the entire map was literally wiped clean with at least 2/3rd of it being wiped out. Including my own nation which was about a fourth of the galaxy at the time. The infighting helped a lot when the Aberrant and Vehement appeared. But man, the game was basically over and done with after that crisis. The entire map was already gone.

@@Bornst3ll3r Basically the Fallen Empires wake up and start playing like normal factions and go to war with each other and the galaxy. With the caveat that they're super OP. The game starts pouring massive resources into destroying every faction and fleet in existence. The unbidden just popped up and rolled the entire map.

I really hope paradox optimizes the game further to accommodate end game battles like these. I still remember gathering up a 700 - 900k fleet to combat the scourge invasion and all I got was a slideshow lmao (I think if I remember correctly it reached 1.8m in a single battle). Though that was like 3 - 4 years ago so a question if you don't mind, did the game get better optimizations after 3 or so years?
@ArxStrategy

6 years late, but a tactic I like to use is to put my ships behind the space station. That way the enemy uses its entire first salvo on the station. In a battle as big as this it would probably be a HUGE advantage to be able to have your hundreds of ships get a solid first strike. Either way friggin epic battle

I've been trying to figure out. How do you get your fleet capacity so high? And how many planets do you have? I imagine the Alloy production needed for this is insane.
@ArxStrategy
@ArxStrategy 5 лет назад
As you can see from the top bar this was before Alloys were even a thing, after 2.2 they changed most of these mechanics. Back then the ships were created off of planetary starports. They reduced overall fleet caps to prevent absurd fleets like you see here. Now you need anchorages, back then it was mostly research and population. At the time i had few planets most of the game because back then the sprawl penalties were based on how many systems and planets you had and were drastic so playing tall was a viable option. After i had researched most technologies i swapped wide so i could field larger fleets and economy.

Post is a year old, but making a bunch of habitats and worlds into fortress worlds will ramp up your fleet capacity as soldier job give extra fleet capacity. Got about 6 habitats and 2 fortress worlds and I'm sitting at around 1700 fleet capacity with a 1.3mil fleet

If I remember correctly I was already way ahead 50 years before and only thing coming was the end game crisis and I never had seen end game crisis before that so I turned my entire empire Prussia like military complex.
