Hi, I had read that the SGB procedure for PTSD, as reported in studies, lasts without needing another injection for 7 years. That was for one patient needing another injection with the other patients still not needed to be re-injected. Your video says it just lasts for possibly several months which is a bit disheartening considering the cost. Could you please explain, many studies state it lasts for years but your treatment lasts for a much shorter time period. How can this be? Thanks in advance.
You can never be sure how long a treatment will last for. We do not want to give wrong impression to our patients and falsely raise their hopes. There are no studies at present that show that the injection will last 7 years. The truth is that in some patients the injection will work well and last several months or even longer; it may even cure them completely. but in some patients the results may not be very good. This would be true for most treatments as different patients respond differently to treatments.
@@PainSpaLimited Thank you for your reply. There were clinical trials done in the US with patients suffering from PTSD, I read the trial results on PubMed (I am a qualified Psychiatric Technician) and out of those treated only one had to have to be readministered with the SGB after a seven-year period had passed. I understand what you are saying about its effectiveness being dependent on the patient though. Once again, thank you for your reply.
@@PainSpaLimited Sure, It was several months ago I was reading into SGB as a possible treatment for PTSD and have read a lot since then! If I come across it again I will post it here for you. best regards.
