This was her 5th or 6th performance of this song. The first performance in a small venue in LA. Her second performance on one of the biggest stages in the world when she performed it live with Toby Gad on Andrew Lloyd Webber's theatre 'The Palladium in London. Angelina dropped her Official Music Video of 'If I Were a Boy’ The Piano Diaries by Toby Gad. He co-wrote this song with B C Jean and it was made famous by Beyoncé in 2008. Toby is working on a reimagining of 9 of his most famous hits and he chose Angelina for this 'reimagination' of this song. This was her second performance released on her Official Channel. They are currently working together on several more songs one of which she performed with her 1st performance of this song at a local nightspot in LA where she also performed this unreleased single called 'Bad Valentine which should be dropping in the next few months. There are also suggestions that they are actually collaborating on Angelina's New Album. Fingers crossed. We are hoping that will soon follow. We have had 6 performances of 'If I Were a Boy' and two official videos. Angelina has never released that much material in such short period of time. 'Bad Valentine is expected to be released shortly and if they do the same type of promotion plus the fact that she is working on her long awaited Album being released around september I am finally seeing a big push over the next year designed to hit the Music Industry hard with Angelina's unique style. A cover only in the sense that what Beyoncé made was a cover of the song written by BC Jean and Toby Gad, originally performed by Jean in 2008. Beyoncé's cover was that same year. This video is something like the 5th time I have seen her cover the song. She has been working with the composer Toby Gad. He invited Angelina to England with him to perform. I am not sure if it is really a cover when a singer is standing next to the composer as they jam to create a different version of the song.

Maybe that is why this rendition is quite close to the original one (BC Jean) or the one that Beyonce did shortly after the original one. Toby and Angelina also make totally original music together. They will release some of it in next September. "Bad Valentine" already was played live recently in LA and it is a really powerful song. Toby Gad is a big name in the music industry, he has over 15 billion streams for songs he has been writing for many very famous artists. He seems to be a really nice guy and I think they have a great working relationship with Angelina.

Both these covers are glorious but I prefer the stripped down version Piano Diaries. That version lets her voice absolutely shine. This format is so very similar to the Academy Award winning song by Bruce Springsteen when he performed 'Streets of Philadelphia' for the movie 'Philadelphia'. Beyonce is not the original singer. I prefer Angelina's version of the song in the church. It's a stripped down performance that accentuate her voice and not with the loud music you hear in this video.
