Ever drop a nice shiny new compound turbo setup on top of your 6.4 Powerstroke only to find it leaking oil because you killed the low pressure drain? Me either, but I figured I'd show step by step how to fix it if you did.
I see bright shiny up-pipes... I'm doing a delete on my truck. I would like to install new up-pipes without the cooler provision. Do you have video on how to replace them without lifting the cab or dropping the trans?? Currently looking to install EBPS on the upper cooler provision rather than the lower outlet due to fatigue and stress issues post delete.
So, it is very do-able without dropping the trans or lifting the cab. I will remind you, however, that after deleting or modifying the emissions equipment it cannot be driven on public streets/farm/race use only. That being said, getting them out involves a sawzall or air saw. Re-installing race up pipes without the EGR Cooler Provisions is MUCH easier.
I know it’s been a while since you posted this, but all in all about how long do you figure it took to tear down? My factory set went out and I’m putting a single back in but the rain here is crazy currently so I’d like to wrap tear down in less than a day. I’ve got aftermarket up pipes and egr is deleted already as well.
With your current setup, it should be easily achievable in an afternoon. With a single turbo, it shouldn't be too hard to make sure you're getting the oil supply and drain put back together correctly, so all in all-- should be pretty simple!
@@USAF99 awesome. Thanks so much for reply, kit says it came with new oil feed and drain but don’t know till I get into it I figure. Got lucky and here in nc every fall and spring we have Rudy’s truck jam and I scored 20% off my kit.
Same up pipe as before or a new one? When I replaced mine, the new ones were "tweaked" a little. I ended up heating them up and tuning them a little to make it right. Just make damn sure they thread in correctly at the turbo, you don't want to be pulling it off to re-thread!
