This is also kinda tricky with such a big window. Got 2 very minor fold, but not rrslly that visibld. Tomorrow i need to do 2 more. I never spray the top 12" of glass. That's where all the contamination comes from. When I squeegee before installation, I pass from one side to the other, wiping the squeegee off each pass, as that way I'm removing any contamination. The window washer squeegee technique is fine for them, I want zero contamination, I take steps to ensure that. Cheers!

Have you ever had issues with warranty when applying architectural window film? I heard (I don’t know if it’s a fact) that window film can cause the window to crack close to the edge of where the tint ends. I don’t know if caulking helps mitigate that?
@rcwindowfilms
@rcwindowfilms Месяц назад
Great question. There are some films that can cause damage to dual pain windows, but there is such a thing as a film to Glass checklist that most manufactures provide that essentially give you the information necessary to recommend the appropriate film to avoid cracking. It all has to do with how much the film absorbs in terms of heat. If the heat absorption is greater than 50%, it would be wise to stay away from that particular product Typically, we install reflective or reflective window films, which have very low heat absorption

You can use soapy solution you want. It mainly has to do with detergents, and other coagulants. good question most windows have a Luis coding on surface two or three. These are on the inside of the window. The best thing to do is get low e-coating reader it’ll identify which surface the Low e coating is on. You still have to be careful, so as not to apply a film that absorbs too much heat specifically on a window with a low e coating located on surface three. if you have a Low e coating present on surface for which is the inside surface of the window one that you can touch from inside of the house. Doesnt the liner cover the adhesive side? It really confuses me how its applied 🤣
@rcwindowfilms
@rcwindowfilms Год назад
I totally understand how it can seem confusing. Let me try to explain so when you peel the liner off the film, you’re exposing the adhesive in by removing it, and then reapplying it on the backside of the film where there is no adhesive as you roll the film down the liner is attached on the backside where you would squeegee to apply the film to the glass. Rather than keeping the film liner on the backside of the film we simply remove it and discard of it and then squeegee to apply the film on the glass. You are able to do this because you’ve removed the liner completely exposed the adhesive to the glass.

depending on the type of window, you can sometimes slide your film behind the metal bracket. @sanchezautodetials-qm8cl is spot on, removing and replacing the screws is also doable however be careful putting screws back in, make sure they go in the same way the came out because if your angle the screw it can damage or crack the glass. You can separate the liner using two pieces of tape. One on each side of the corner of the film.

Do clients ever complain about have their seals cut back a bit?
@rcwindowfilms
@rcwindowfilms 8 месяцев назад
no typically we let our clients choose whether they want them cut or removed and replaced never been an issue

I'm an automotive window tint installer i never did a commercial or residential window install my question is why is it necessary to cut the seals?
@rcwindowfilms
@rcwindowfilms 8 месяцев назад
@@dccustomsdetaling7022 the primary purpose for trimming seals, is to maintain the glass from moving. If you remove the seals and replace them your commercial glass will shift as the seals, secure the glass to the frame, unlike automotive where it is bolted in place or glued in place.

OK.. SO THERE IS NO ADHESIVE SIDE PER SAY ON tint.... because you are putting the back side of film on the window. its water activated is guess... no glue side on fillm. right? normally i struggle with pulling liner off cuz its sandwiched between FILM AND GLASS. this you gotta make clear. you dont apply as intended... you apply backwards with your reverse roll. soo confusng. please clarify.

Dude, we watch the videos you keep asking the same questions I’ve explained it in like four different videos. Others have figured it out with the video. Is there anything specifically that you’re wanting to know?

Actually I'll be honest I can see why he is confused. When I reverse roll auto film it's opposite of what you did. My liner would face the window and as I pull the liner it rolls out and the adhesive side touches the glass

You peel the protective film off of the screen so that the part it covered is facing into the room and not facing the window? ...i would've thought you'd apply it the other way, that the film you peel off is protecting the part thats going to be in contact with the glass else whats the point in it🫤🤷‍♂️

What is the mixture of Dawn soap and water ratio? You are making it look too easy.
@rcwindowfilms
@rcwindowfilms 10 месяцев назад
Well thank you for the compliment. I like to test out my solution with a small panel before doing all the windows required. I suggest starting with 2 teaspoons of dawn per 16 oz of water.
