I just did mine today. Best advice I can say to do is remove the front passenger seat from the car before you drop the headliner. Makes taking the headliner out and putting it back in the car light years easier. You will need a T50 Torx bit. The seat is held in place by two Torx screws. The torque for installing the seat back is 33 lb ft.
Same thing with my 2015 . Factory used cheap adhesive/material (non-proven or poor application technique). Very costly to owners. Sucks. ....... Thanks for this tube. The details about the sunvisor clips and dome are golden. I took my car to so called headliner shop for repair.... Big mistake - the work was so bad i did not go back to have them touch my car. Still pisses me off. No respect for the job they were doing.
Thanks. Nice detail on that sunvisor retainer. That thing is tricky. It is composed of 5 components, The housing, the metal structure, the spring, the rocker, the retainer. The rocker has the recessed area for the spring. Make sure the rocker is in neutral position when you align the unit / press it together to insert the retainer. If rocker is misaligned it might not come together.... At about time 15:59 there is detail of sunvisor clip metal retainer. And 21:17 too...
@anthonyfelix3910 the shop used Sem trim black. But the plastics have to be prepped well so the paint can stick, otherwise it will chip off easy. I don’t think the shop did that good of a job prepping them so I had to touch it up in some spots. But the color came out very close to the factory black on the lower b pillar.
good video, thanks for the info, looks nice. Just curious why didn't you wrap the pillars with the same fabric? You could use a piece of pvc with a bungee or straps to suspend the headliner why you get the wires and shit sorted.
The shop did ask if I wanted to get them wrapped but the said they wouldn’t be able to wrap some of the pieces like the speaker cover and the screw covers on the c pillars. I just had them spray it black. However, shop didn’t do that good of a job prepping them so I had to clean it up and respray. That’s a good tip for holding up the headliner. Yeah cause dealing with the wiring was truly the hardest part!
Yeah i would be hesitant to paint unless they were quite durable, with the light plastic color would show scratches easily w/ dark color paint. Can you pm, me the pricing details, we are on same side of town, and i need to do this too. I tired of not being able to roll down windows because i drive a hoopty.
Pls tag me On the rear headliner was their some rectangle brown clips?? My car was stolen n they pulled my headliner dwn a bit to disconnect the attenna so right now my headliner is sagging
@@reyesjose214 yes I struggled until I found out that the metal retaining clip comes out and it’s easier to reassemble everything and then push back in as one piece. Check out minute mark 20:48 in my video or search for “Holden sunvisor clip”, there is a short 2 minute video also on YT
